Our Story

Azuni beadwork creations are not just another piece of fashion jewellery. Founded by designer and creative director Ashley Marshall, AZUNI was born out of life long passion for ancient crafts and cultures. Our designs are the culmination of over two decades of collaboration between Ashley and a small team of traditional Mayan artisan women from the stunning highlands of Guatemala.

We are passionate about making a difference and from day one, Azuni’s mission has been to keep local craftmanship alive, by fusing it with contemporary, unique and innovative design. Our goal is to preserving age old artisanal techniques, passed down through generations, whilst providing employment and independence for young women and mothers to support their families.

Our beadwork creations are amongst the finest in the world using only the best quality Japanese Miyuki beads and a myriad of weaving and stitching techniques. Each piece requires hours of patience and skill. Azuni are proud that our designs bare provenance, meaning and soul – slow fashion creations made in limited quantities.
