Discommon Goods

Discommon Goods We create excessively engineered and meticulously executed products in limited volumes

Discommon Goods was born out of a desire to create the pieces that were stuck in our heads. Collaborating with designers from all fields (from automotive to super yachts) we have given a simple promise: work with us and we will make exactly what is in your head. No corporate bs, no market studies, no asking for approval from the product team, just unadulterated ex*****on of creativity using the coolest materials and processes from around the world.

Kicked off a new chapter this week with the incredible team at Czinger Vehicles - branding, web and product work all to come from us. How many US OEM’s are mad enough to develop a bespoke 2.88L 11000rpm V8?? Will get out for a drive in one soon. Thanks to Max Morice for the trust.

It’s Masters week, so here’s a little current bespoke golf goodness from our collab with FORMAWERX. A piece for a certain world champion that likes McLaren Orange and plays a bit of golf.

Discommon was proud to be challenged to do what we love most - being allowed to integrate in with a fantastic core team at a company. The team of engineers exemplified this. Often engineers can be wary of the designers - Lola was the opposite, damn near poking us to challenge them more at every meeting and sometimes making our parts before we even knew we were finished!

The challenge with this design project was quite unique - we were not “re-shaping” the Lola T70, we were amplifying it. The weight of this design project was on interior details but we were allowed to spill out into some exterior pieces, liveries and details. Throughout the process, the idea was to do “cool sh*t” but maintain an aesthetic befitting of a 70’s car. You’ll notice less compound surfaces than normal from us and hopefully a cabin that seems appropriate across multiple decades. We will share may more stories and details over the coming weeks

Piece Number 2 for the headquarters build. This goes off to begin 5 axis CNC foam cutting in the coming days. In theory it will then get seamlessly mudded into and painted over. Theory is great - need to make it real! Thanks for the trust

Racing Green / Pepita watch puck - live on the site.

Why this color, Neil?

I like old Porsches - any other dumb questions? Fun story on this tomorrow - that pepita fabric did NOT want to be 3D formed to shape.

I was hesitating to post this because half of you will think it’s real and ready to purchase. It’s not. But it’s a big moment in that it’s essentially design-lock for us on our backpack and it’s entering the sampling phase. I’m posting to set it here as a goal that we can compare back to. Externally this is a quiet start to the year for Discommon Goods as we do the scary thing and commit to growth - both in terms of products and hopefully customers. It’s all going to get real fun in the summer when launches start happening. Thanks for continuing to champion us.

Insta in a tizzy about the interior design of a new electric Jee..eh Ferrari interior. Later this year we’ll get to share one of our most adventurous design engagements to date. There are no screens and no fake noises - the “clack clack” of this shifter is very real.

On the 50th anniversary of Concorde’s first flight, I thought it would be fun to post a gallery of our late nights building in . These were shot on zero sleep with a Leica Q3 as we wondered if this thing really was going to go into the ceiling.
