Posted • We were delighted to get a look into the studio of jeweller Jane Adam whilst she created her wonderful pieces.

After graduating with an MA in Metalwork and Jewellery from , Jane set up her studio in London to design and create ranges of jewellery. She is known for her innovative work with aluminium, which she has block- and digitally printed, dyed, anodised and textured, as well as her use of bimetals - layered gold and silver bonded together and engraved or patterned to reveal glimpses of each metal.

“I treasure the magical moment when the right piece finds the right owner. By becoming part of the wearer’s experience and expression of self, my jewellery is transformed and completed. I know I have succeeded in making something relevant when other people respond by buying and wearing my work.” -

Jane’s work has been featured in multiple group and solo exhibitions, as well as public collections for major museums and galleries including the . She has also been selected to exhibit at Goldsmiths’ Fair an incredible 15 times!

I don’t take a lot of holiday snaps these a days but the Palau de la Musica Catalans in Barcelona is just so photogenic. As was the Mucha exhibition in the Palau Martorell (which included his later political works in his native Czechoslovakia).

Posted • .on.art We dedicate one chapter of the catalog to a feather-light metal - aluminum. In 1991, a wonderfully illustrated collection of essays was published under the name 'Aluminium - das Metall der Moderne' to accompany the trilogy of exhibitions at the museums in Cologne, Neuss and Engelskirchen. Two years earlier, the Düsseldorf Gallery for Design UND Design Education launched a series of exhibitions that focused on contemporary aluminum jewelry. The pieces of jewelry offered here are from the exhibitions of 1989 and 1991 and show only a small part of the fascinating variance of the material. Let yourself be carried away by the versatile 'metal of modernity'.

Posted • A few months ago wrote an article on the use of aluminum in jewelry. As I told her in the article, it has a long history in jewelry even though many designers today are once again fascinated by it. This sale featuring the jewelry of embodies why aluminum is so great: it’s light as a feather and it absorbs color so beautifully. Just look at these fabulous examples of Jane’s jewelry from the 1980s… just WOW!!
