Just wrapped an intense and inspiring week in Las Vegas and NYC.

At JCK Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Antique Show, it was energising to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones. The mood at the Antique Show was vibrant with strong sales being reported. JCK felt more measured transactions were fewer, but the sentiment was far stronger than expected, especially with the current tariff pressures in the US.

From there, I headed to New York City for my first WFDB Presidents Meeting. Global leaders gathered from the President of Botswana to high-level reps from Angola, De Beers Group, IDMA, World Diamond Council (WDC) , and more.

In those meetings, I made it a priority to speak up for our bourse members, especially those feeling the pressure of today’s rapidly changing market. Their role as the beating heart of the trade cannot be overstated. They are the true value creators deeply connected to both product and people.

There’s no quick fix but I am committed to evolving, defending, and supporting our members as we all navigate the challenges of the emergence of technology, AI, and a shifting global landscape.

About last night.

Last night and collaborated to put on a Spotlight On Diamonds event together. I had the pleasure of introducing the speakers including the Executive Team at De Beers and the Managing Director of the Boston Consulting Group.

A great evening and informative event attended by many of the West End London Brands, UK chain stores, UK retailers, buying Groups, industry associations, members of the London Diamond Bourse and Hatton Garden community.

After a recent purchase from the esteemed Indian diamond manufacturer, , I was delighted to find literature about "The Artisan Initiative.” This introduced me to Anthony Makhubela, a skilled bruting craftsman from Mpumalanga province in South Africa, who had personally worked on my diamond.

This fantastic initiative, founded by , shines a spotlight on the crucial role local craftsmen play in the diamond industry. It also underscores the positive impact that natural diamonds have on local communities in diamond-producing countries like South Africa.

Personal connections and stories like these are exactly what need to be communicated to consumers, giving them the opportunity to understand the positive impact their purchases have.

Congratulations and on creating this remarkable initiative, and for raising awareness of the important roles these highly skilled people play in our natural diamond journey.

Last week I invested in myself for the first time in a while and I had the most incredible experience!

I was one of the lucky few who was given the opportunity to participate in the and Global Leadership Program with a select few leaders from the Diamond and Jewellery Industry.

It was such an engaging and impactful experience where I was able to take myself out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. To say I learnt a lot would be an massive understatement! I am now looking forward to implementing much of what I learnt into my business and the organisations I am a part of.

On Thursday I had the pleasure of joining a round table discussion hosted by with 24 industry representatives for the UK Jewellery, Silverware and Allied Crafts Industry with Sir Chris Bryant, Shadow Minister for Creative and Digital, part of the department for Media Culture and Sport.

Thank you for hosting a fantastic opportunity to highlight the challenges faced by our industry .

I look forward to working closely with all other 23 participants again soon to initiate the change and support our Industry requires.
