Christie’s upcoming 60th-Anniversary 007 Bond Auction features a Jet Boat, Faberge Egg, Astons, Omegas & More.
2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the 1962 release of the first Bond film - Dr. No. Celebrations have been ongoing all year so far, but perhaps the most impressive comes to us via auction house Christie’s, which is selling 60 lots containing items relating to all 25 official 007 movies.
Headlining the auction is a selection of film-used vehicles. These include one of the eight Aston Martin DB5 stunt cars built for No Time to Die, which is the only example ever offered for sale and is expected to fetch up to £2,000,000. There’s also a 1981 Aston Martin V8 driven by Daniel Craig in NTTD, a Q Jet Boat from The World Is Not Enough, and the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE motorcycle from NTTD that was heavily modified to handle the film’s incredible stunts. There are also several Land Rovers, a Jaguar, and another Aston all up for grabs.
While the vehicles are expected to fetch some of the largest sums, there are plenty of other interesting lots in the auction. Several film-worn Omega watches are available, including a Seamaster Aqua Terra and Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, both worn by Craig in NTTD. Some other highlights include Timothy Dalton’s License to Kill tuxedo, the Swarovski crystal-encrusted Faberge Egg prop from Oc*****sy, and Barbara Bach’s screen-worn dress from The Spy Who Loved Me.
As if the lots themselves weren’t cool enough, the proceeds from Christie’s Sixty Years of James Bond Auction will be donated to 45 different charities. The auction will take place in two phases - in London on Sept. 28, and an online auction running from Sept. 15 through Oct. 5.
