But who do you think would wear it? 🤔

Using this year's Met Gala theme we created a concept design of a bow tie that we would create that fits the 2026 dress code 'Fashion is Art' which celebrates the dressed body as a central artistic subject and bridging fashion with fine art.

The inspo for the design was drawn from several core pillars of costume art.

The intricate mosaic patterns and figurative elements on the bowntie represent the centrality of the dressed body. This honours the history of art, where the body serves as primary focus for expression.

Just as the garments alongside ancient and contemporary artworks, the Bow tie blends traditional textile textures with mimics of classical sculpture and painting.

The idea was a walking museum aesthetic, so the use of rich gold embroidery and fine art details mirrors the Met Gala's goal of presenting fashion as a high art form and inviting the wearer to treat their own body as a blank canvas.

Tbh, it took me back to studying art history during my fashion degree.

As a millennial, wedding season used to kind of follow a pattern but now it doesn't.

Thought I'd share a bit of Friday thoughts with you before we wrap up for the Bank Holiday weekend.

We're seeing weddings booked across every month with couples prioritising flexibility, experience, and more so intention over tradition. For that, I'd also like to shout out to Gen Z's.

From where we stand, which is creating pieces for these moments, there's no longer a quiet period, which I think says a lot about where the industry is heading.
