Saudi Arabia and Singapore have confirmed a new arrangement to store Saudi crude at the Jurong Rock Caverns from the second half of 2027.

The plan was announced at Singapore International Energy Week, with Saudi Aramco to work alongside the Energy Market Authority and JTC Corporation.

For both countries, it means more secure supply and closer cooperation, with scope to extend ties beyond energy.

Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia are exploring ways to expand agricultural trade following discussions between First Deputy Minister of Agriculture llich Marsbek uulu and Mongolian Ambassador Demchig Tegshjargal. The talks centred on direct supplies of fresh produce, vegetables and dried fruit from Kyrgyzstan to Mongolia. Both sides also discussed aligning veterinary standards to support trade in livestock and meat products.

These plans could open up new opportunities for agricultural exporters, food distributors and logistics providers, while giving suppliers in both countries greater access to each other's market.. 🇲🇳 🤝🇰🇬

Malaysia and Jordan are exploring closer cooperation in semiconductors, technology, engineering, agriculture and defence technology. Discussions between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and King Abdullah II have highlighted areas where the two countries could work together, including industrial development, technical expertise and agricultural supply chains.

One area of interest is the potential for Malaysian palm oil producers to work with Jordan’s phosphate industry to meet local fertiliser needs. Both countries are also looking at reviving joint trade committees and restoring direct flight connections to support business travel.

Jordan’s existing free trade agreements with major Western economies could also give Malaysian businesses another route into international markets. Cooperation across these sectors could create new opportunities for Malaysia and Jordan to expand trade and develop industrial partnerships. 🇲🇾 🤝 🇯🇴

Bangladesh and Indonesia are aiming to take bilateral trade beyond $10 billion, compared with around $4 billion at present. Reaching this target could create new opportunities for trade and business across a range of sectors.

Bangladesh currently imports around $3.5 billion in goods from Indonesia, while exports to Indonesia remain at approximately $56 million. Expanding Bangladesh’s exports could therefore play an important role in reaching the next stage of bilateral trade.

The two countries are looking at the revival of Preferential Trade Agreement negotiations, alongside measures to address market-access and regulatory barriers affecting agricultural and pharmaceutical products. Better access for Bangladesh’s ready-made garments could also open further scope for trade.

Energy and infrastructure provide another area for closer cooperation, particularly through Indonesian coal supplies and the logistics supporting Bangladesh’s energy needs.

With trade, market access and industrial cooperation developing across several areas, Bangladesh and Indonesia relations have room to build stronger commercial ties and create new opportunities for businesses in both countries.

Trade between China and Bangladesh stood at $12.8 billion during the first six months of 2026, marking a 10.6% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

China has been Bangladesh’s largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years through 2025, with Chinese investment in Bangladesh reaching around $3.6 billion by June 2026. Direct investment also rose by roughly 50% in 2025.

Market access for Bangladeshi products, including mangoes and jackfruit, is also expanding, alongside a joint action plan to strengthen export capacity and improve the trade balance. Great to see trade and investment links continuing to grow between these two Asian countries.

Pakistan and Malaysia are currently working to expand bilateral trade channels, with a sharp focus on increasing market access for Pakistani rice and scaling up cooperation within the halal food sector. Trade delegations from both countries have recently met to review progress on the existing $200 million halal meat trade quota and streamline supply chains for agricultural commodities.

With annual bilateral trade currently sitting at around $1.4 billion, these ongoing commercial discussions present strong growth opportunities for exporters and businesses operating within the agri-food, meat, and certification industries in both nations. 🇵🇰 🤝 🇲🇾

Cambodia and Malaysia are looking to build on a relationship that has been steadily expanding in trade and investment.

The latest discussions between the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Malaysia’s Ambassador to Cambodia come at a time when trade between the two countries has grown by more than 55% in the first eight months of 2026. With bilateral trade already exceeding $1 billion last year, the scale of recent growth is drawing greater attention to the commercial relationship between the two markets.

Investment is also becoming an important part of the conversation. Malaysian businesses have been encouraged to explore opportunities in Cambodia, while Cambodia’s growing private sector is creating a wider base for commercial engagement.

For two economies with long-standing ties, the combination of stronger trade and renewed investment interest makes Cambodia–Malaysia relations worth watching as economic links within Asia continue to develop.

Kazakhstan and China are opening a new digital channel for businesses to trade agricultural products through a shared digital marketplace. The platform gives Kazakh exporters and Chinese buyers a more direct way to find partners, negotiate deals and trade with fewer intermediaries.

Built on China’s National Grain Trade Center, it connects businesses to a network of around 50,000 agricultural enterprises. With 35 Kazakh companies already registered and a first deal agreed for 24,000 tonnes of flaxseed, the platform is already creating a practical channel for agricultural trade between Kazakhstan and China.

Developments like this show how digital trade infrastructure can make international business more accessible and create new opportunities for companies looking to expand their reach across Asia.

India and Uzbekistan are targeting US$5 billion in bilateral trade by 2030, with current trade standing above US$1 billion. New measures aimed at reducing barriers to trade and investment could help support progress towards this target.

Removing non-tariff barriers, improving market access and payment systems, and expanding cooperation in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, engineering and critical minerals could create new opportunities for companies in both countries. Plans for UPI-based payments and a long-term uranium supply arrangement also add new areas for business cooperation, while greater collaboration in tourism and education can support stronger links across both economies.

Together, these developments provide a strong basis for further trade, investment and business partnerships, including opportunities for joint ventures and supply-chain cooperation as economic ties expand.

Singapore’s FDI into Kazakhstan reached around US$1.5 billion in 2025, while bilateral trade reached US$777 million in the first half of 2026, 2.5 times higher than in the same period last year.

The focus is increasingly on how this capital and trade growth can translate into business activity. Cooperation between Middle Corridor Multimodal and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise covers multimodal transport, trade facilitation and digital systems along the Middle Corridor, alongside discussions on AI and enterprise digital solutions.

This creates opportunities to connect Singapore’s expertise in logistics and digital services with Kazakhstan’s role as a gateway between Central Asia and wider international markets. The next step will be turning these areas of cooperation into projects, services and stronger business-to-business links.
