I really was not expecting this!
I don’t know if we’ve just been incredibly lucky….and I have seen 2 tarantulas on the street….but honestly, the absence of house spiders the size of a house are a massive unexpected bonus if moving to Cyprus, and I sleep much better because of it ☀️🕷️
Oh and yeh, I do know they’re more scared of us, we need them, they can’t hurt us and all that…doesn’t help 🤨

16 months here and life feels very different. We will always miss our gorgeous friends and family in the UK, and I may never recover (or be forgiven) from the guilt of taking my parents grandchildren away, but we cherish ever moment we do get to spend with them….and life here is so good ☀️❤️

I’m extra grateful at this time of year.
Education was a huge factor in us deciding to leave the UK so I’m delighted that school here is everything we’d hoped for.
I’m not UK teacher bashing at all - I sadly think the stress and pressure to hit the ground running, along with the constant threat of an imminent Ofsted inspection often produces an environment that just isn’t what young minds need after a long holiday. School should be enjoyable for every child, and dare I say - even fun!
Wishing every student and teacher a happy and stress free return to school 🫶🏼

This isn’t even the full list, there’s more if I really think about it!
People always come at me when I make a post comparing England to Cyprus, so I would just like to say that this post is purely my own opinion based entirely on my own experience. I know not everyone has the same opinion or experience, and that’s what makes life interesting! I know Cyprus isn’t perfect and doesn’t have everything - scones for example….but it is perfect for me right now and I am very, very grateful to live here ✨
