A little update from Lolabelle 💜

I know I’ve been a bit quiet lately and haven’t posted or made very much for a while. There are a few reasons for that.

Firstly, it has been far too hot to sit in my workshop. Wire wrapping and sweaty hands are not a good combination — the moisture can make the wire oxidise in a dull, slightly strange way, and I’d much rather wait than make pieces I’m not completely happy with.

Secondly, the day job has been extraordinarily busy, life has taken over a little recently, and I’ve also been finishing a rather big personal project… my first novel. 📚✨

But with the MK Handmade & Vintage Fair only a few weeks away, my focus is turning firmly back to Lolabelle. I want to make sure I have plenty of new stock and lots of new pendants ready for you all, and I have some absolutely gorgeous new stones waiting on my workbench — including a few I’ve never worked with before. I’m very excited to see what they become. 💎

September is shaping up to be a pretty big month, with both the MK Handmade & Vintage Fair and the release of my novel happening. One of those I am completely cool and comfortable about… the other I’m more than a little nervous about. 😂 But equally, I’m incredibly excited for both.

And I’ll be returning to YouTube this week too, so keep your eyes peeled for a new video.

It feels good to be getting back to the wire, the stones and Lolabelle again. 💜

📚 Today I’d love to introduce you to another independent creative, who just so happens to be a friend of mine.

Over the past couple of months, I’ve had the privilege of reading the draft of Eva Thornberry’s debut fantasy novel, Thornhaven: The Lost Hall, as it has grown and developed, and I genuinely think it’s a story many of you would enjoy.

It’s a fantasy academia novel filled with dragons, magical creatures, friendship and ancient mysteries. There are even a few crystals woven into the story... 😉

Eva has recently launched her website and social pages as she begins sharing the world she’s created — and the creatures within it.

The book isn’t available just yet, as it’s currently seeking literary representation, but hopefully it won’t be too long before it finds its way onto bookshelves.

Just remember — you heard about it here first!
