Wilde Folk Jewellery FORMERLY CAMPFIRE & COMPASS

Handmade jewellery for all genders, inspired by nature, mysticism & the occult.

Hello, my name is Riley, I use they/them and he/him pronouns and I live in Nottingham, UK, with my husband and our 3 cats. I first started metalsmithing and making jewellery when I was bought a ring-making lesson as a gift. By the end of the class I knew this wouldn’t be the end of it and bought my first set of tools. Since then my tool kit has expanded and I found a passion for making detailed je

wellery, out of high quality silver and bronze, for nature lovers like myself. My nature and outdoors inspired designs came from a desire to shut off the chatter of daily life and get back to nature so that I could remember what’s important and find my roots. The beauty of the outdoors can be so enchanting and thought-provoking that I can’t help but feel a sense of calm wonderment whenever I’m amongst it. Wanting to take a piece of this feeling with me wherever I went, I decided to replicate elements of nature into my designs. The history of humankind gives us a wealth of traditions, rituals and storytelling that reminds us of our bond with nature; and it's never felt more important than now to lean in and re-strengthen that innate connection. Here you will find hand-crafted jewellery inspired by the wild, folklore and an appreciation of the Earth, so that we might remember what’s important– simply that we are nature. I have been vegan for over a decade so, naturally, all of the jewellery on this website is suitable for vegans and all packaging is sustainable and responsibly sourced. My fox tooth pendants are cast in solid recycled silver, after moulding a real fox tooth that I found (as part of a skull, but it was loose!) in the wild.

I love creepy stuff but I also think its just a lovely way to memorialise beautiful creatures and the circle of life 🦊

I have a few of these ready-to-ship and any orders for fox tooth pendants ordered between now and the end of the week will be delivered with a free sterling silver chain!

It’s been a while since I made a massive, magical crystal point pendant!

This stone is a Garden Quartz, also known as Lodolite. It’s a clear crystal, filled with mineral inclusions that look like miniature landscapes or fairy gardens! Each one has it’s own secret world inside, and this one is extra secret - hidden behind the silver walls - so that you can turn it upside-down and gaze into it. It’s your very own private escape from your busy day into a dream-like world.

Garden quartz is actually used for grounding your thoughts and expanding your inner world. Spend a few moments each day gazing into it and allowing your mind to journey along whatever paths it needs to travel and maybe it will reveal a truth you needed to know.

Made entirely with recycled sterling silver and featuring a little oak twig as the bail on top!

This isn’t available yet but stay tuned to see when it will be added to the shop!

SECONDS SALE!

You might’ve seen this on my story a little while ago - I made it whilst practicing gallery settings last month and I absolutely love it.

One of the claws decided to pop off whilst I was making it, so there’s an odd number of claws, but you wouldn’t really know unless you were looking for it! Despite its missing claw it’s still extremely sturdy (because of the sheer amount of the buggers!) and I love the gallery-style mount behind it - it feels particularly fancy.

This labradorite & sterling pendant would’ve been £145 had it got all of it’s claws intact, but instead it’s reduced by 30% bringing it down to £95.70. A bargain for such a big pendant with a lot of silver!

There were a lot of interested eyes on it at the last couple of markets but it’s yet to find a home - will you make it yours?

I had a lovely day out today with Berni ( ) at making display pieces and photography props for our jewellery!

I made some display blocks and cones which will be roughly textured and in a matte black glaze with a matching circular tray that I'll put on my mini lazy Susan to take 360° pics and videos of jewellery on so you can see things better!

As for the ear...I've wanted to make one for years to photograph earrings on so you've got an accurate idea of size, movement & drop but I didnt think I'd be able to do it. I tried to do it years ago, got nowhere near anything resembling an ear and gave up but today I managed a pretty decent job first time!

It's been lots of fun playing around with a different medium and having some fun making things without the pressure of an income and I can't wait to go back and finish them.

P.s. if you like minimalist, unisex and sleek lying designed silver & gold jewellery then definitely have a look at Berni's account. She's very good!

The moon in this dendritic agate inspired the crescent cut-out on the back of this custom piece for .thorn 🌙 I absolutely love it! She's a big ol' dramatic piece too at almost 6cm tall!

Thank you Kiri for commissioning this piece - I had a lot of fun doing it!

I love my job and I've been very excited to work on the pieces in the picture but it took me, no exaggeration, 8.5 hours to actually force myself to sit down and do it.

I WANTED to do it. I'm not a lazy person - far from it! I cant sit still even when my disability put me in constant pain. Here's a list of things my brain decided I'd do instead:
- shave Liams head
- hoover
- gardening
- hang some pictures
- touch up the paint on my studio wall
- organise my non-work emails

I finally got to work at 18:30 and have some dinner at 22:00 🫣

It's so hard to explain to people without ADHD that I literally cannot force myself to do The Important Thing because my brain wont let me and instead is sending me on side-quests for dopamine 😅

Anyway, I worked on a lunar commission, a OOAK for a photoshoot and some Luna pendant & stud restocks for this weekends market and I'm really happy with how they're coming along !

Thanks for listening to my rant 😆

In 2025 I spent a lot of time getting compliant to sell in the EU, NI & USA again following the introduction of GPSR & tariffs but unfortunately the damage was already done.

The additional costs & complications associated with shipping abroad completely tanked my international sales & I’ve not made a single overseas sale since they were introduced.

The GPSR certification is very expensive, the rules keep changing & I haven’t seen any return on it so I’ve made the difficult decision not to renew it this year.

If you’re outside of the UK & have been thinking of ordering from me, please make sure you do it before the end of June.

To any prospective international customers - I’m sorry! I wish there were some way I could keep going x
