Timeless Curiosity presents a range of Steampunk inspired resin-set jewellery and mixed media gifts. All items are hand crafted by Nikki England in my home in Nottingham, UK. I began experimenting with resin and cogs when recovering from my second hip replacement operation in January 2014. To start with, it was a hobby shared with my two daughters (Jasmine and Lily) to fill time until I was able to return to work. However, all three of us enjoyed it so much that we had soon created more jewellery than we could possibly hope to wear ourselves or give to friends and, in April 2014, we had our first stall and created Timeless Curiosity. I am still enjoying playing with recycled cogs and gears, vintage sheet music, glitter, charms and resin to create Timeless Curiosity jewellery, although the girls have now moved on to pursue their own lives and careers. I find the intricate nature of the watch cogs and gears both beautiful and fascinating and enjoy combining them with colour or vintage sheet music to create layers of interest within individual pieces. I like to showcase these ‘retired’ workings in a way that indicates their previous functional lives whilst they are set in a permanent, unmoving, timeless, casing of clear doming Ice Resin. Whilst inspired by Steampunk (a sub-genre which can, superficially, be described as Victorian science fiction), I hope Timeless Curiosity jewellery can be enjoyed by anybody who appreciates the attraction and intricacies of these tiny timepiece mechanisms. My latest doodle is a red squirrel. I've been meaning to have a go at one for a while now but kept putting it off. I grew up in a Cumbrian valley full of cheeky red squirrels and never actually saw a grey one until I moved away at 16. I don't think they're anywhere near as abundant as they were in my childhood but hope a few still survive. My red squirrel is currently in black and white but I'm planning on getting my paintbrushes out over the weekend. Squirrel Nutkins here will take on the classic russet hue as she nibbles away on her hazel nut.

Can you believe it's October already? Took me by surprise and I haven't even pretended to myself I'd complete this year's Inktober Tangles challenge. I've added a few of the tangles into my squirrel design instead - for those in the know, how many can you spot?

The doors are open at the Garage in Chilwell for another fabulous market full of artists, artisan crafts, homemade food and fine antiques. Here until 2pm. Come along x

We're all go on the arboretum for the annual Nottingham Green Festival. Forecast is for the rain to hold off until 7pm and we're here till 6pm. Stalls, campaigns, food, music etc. Come on down xx

Day 2 of The Asylum in Lincoln. We're in the Castle Grounds across the way from this fine chap, Smog. Steampunk shenanigans, fine stalls, fabulous outfits and entertainments all day today and tomorrow. The sun even put in an appearance earlier.

Rainbows and coal smoke. Day 2 of the Steampunk weekend at Papplewick Pumping Station. Another beautiful day with a refreshing breeze and promise of fun to be had. Professor Elemental is playing later, alongside lots of other entertainments and a plethora of fabulous stalls. Here till 4pm x

It's a beautiful day here for the annual Steampunk weekend. It's already thriving with splendid (weather appropriate) costumes and a refreshing breeze has put in a special guest appearance. We are spoilt! Come along for steampunk shenanigans, stalls and entertainments alongside the regular pumping station in steam attractions. Find me in the marquee today and tomorrow.

I'm out and about! I've hardly left the house for the last 3 weeks but now I'm back on track. At the Garage on a Saturday for the first time. It's similar to the regular Sunday markets, but on a Saturday. As always, a fine and varied selection of arts, crafts and fine foods. Here till 2pm x

Sadly, I've had to cancel my stall at Sherwood Open Gardens on Saturday as I'm still not well enough. Very disappointed. Please do head up to the Woodthorpe Park Plant shop and other venues to appreciate both the gardens and crafts that are there. It's another fabulous event that I'm sad to be missing.

My dogs and works by other local artists are still on display in Sherwood Shops, so you have this weekend to admire the Sherwood art gallery if you haven't made it down yet.

The dogs are up in the PDSA charity shop window. Never the easiest to get photos, so you know what you have to do? Get yourself down to Mansfield Road to enjoy all the art in shops.

There's lots of lovely art to admire and there will be more at the Secret Garden Craft Fair tomorrow. Sadly, I've had to make the difficult decision to cancel my stall. My health is not playing nicely. Very disappointed but please, get yourselves down there and enjoy the delights from all the other artists, makers and crafters. Hopefully I'll be back on form for next weekend's open gardens.
