We are so sad that the market has been cancelled, we work really hard to make sure we have stock ready and it often means that we are working late into the night to prepare for these events. At the end of the day we go to make money and now we are not. I could go on about the loss of money and preparation that goes into each market but it would turn into a moan and no one wants a moan on a Friday night.
I do have a lot of valentine themed glass and spring flowers so if you want a pocket heart or something to bring some joy to your space let me know ☺️
📣 February markets - UPDATE
Fisrt the good news: our friends at The White Horse Ruddington market and Ruddington Handmade Craft Market in St Peter's Rooms are busy getting ready for their first markets back for the year 🤩 Catch them both from 9am-2pm for lots of great food, provisions, treats, gifts, art, design, and crafts, and why not stop off for a market day breakfast from Smashed Kitchen in The Frame Breakers Ruddington too!
As for the bad news, us lot at RVM won't be here this time around - the poor old village green really has taken a soak since our last visit 2 months ago, with the Midlands getting 50% more rain than the long-term average for January, and leaving the ground over-saturated 😵 We've been keeping a close eye and our fingers and toes crossed this last week for the ground to dry out enough, but following the latest inspection and buckets of rain last night, at best it's really muddy, at worst it'll be a horribly dangerous slip-hazard 😖 Safety first eh, but needless to say, we're thoroughly gutted to miss our 7th birthday market like this. Still, we roll with the punches 😕
Make sure to check out our would-be stallholders this month - scroll through our feed over the last few weeks to see them all - they're just as bummed as us not to be here, so hunt them down, find them at other events throughout February, or even order online if they have a webshop - it'll really make a difference to keep these indies going👍
If you're still planning a mooch to Rudd (of course you are!), take a peek around the high street too, remember to park like a pro if you're coming by car and keep those driveways clear, stay dry, stay safe, and we'll see you back in March... spring is on the way!
