Coffee Pod Creations started three years ago when I became concerned about the millions of coffee pods which are discarded and end up in landfill. Culturally, the coffee capsule is a symbol of a busy lifestyle. My work represents the opposite: the slowing down and appreciating the little things. It is a conscious move towards a more sustainable jewellery practice. Although I’ve worked with glass and taken silversmith workshops, I prefer using recycled materials. It all started when I saw a simple pendant, from Italy, which was made out of coffee pods. I recycled some of my friend’s pods and began to experiment with new designs and ideas. I came up with a triple pod pendant and a single pod design and incorporated beads into the necklaces. I extended my range into creating brooches and earrings. My work doesn’t involved machinery and is not mass produced. Each item is handmade using aluminium coffee pods to create the designs. I collect, clean and transform the pods into jewellery using a special technique which I have developed. There are many parts to the process and it takes a long time. However I love sharing my work with others and I feel passionately about why I do it. When you buy an item from Coffee Pod Creations you are buying a unique gift either for yourself or someone else.

Stepping out of my comfort zone to take part in Business & IP Centre "Start-up Stars:Purpose to Profit" panel ⭐

Now, talking about sustainability and running a business is something I'm passionate about. But talking about it in front of a room full of people? That's another thing entirely 🫣

I get tongue tied which is silly when you consider I used to be a teacher and speaking in front of people was part of my everyday job 😂

However these days my working life is a lot quieter. Most days it's me, coffee pods and my dog! So being part of a panel is a step outside of my comfort zone. However, when I was invited to take part, I knew I didn't want to miss out. I think there's a lot of misconceptions around this topic and I think it's great to share our own experiences.

So desoite feeling nervous, I'm also excited to hear from other founders who are finding the balance between impact and outcome.

If you're starting a business, growing one or trying to make yours more sustainable, then this is a chance to hear honest experiences from business owners trying their best to make a positive impact.

Same same but different 🍃 you'll find these earrings Eden Project Shop they're all made from Stockholm green coffee pod but they all have different folksy floral patterns 💚

This style is exclusive for Eden Project | Cornwall, UK and was inspired by the joy of nature.

If you haven't been to The Eden Project, I highly recommend it. It’s such a fantastic place to explore, with the world's largest indoor rainforest, a wobbly canopy walkway and soon to be outdoor ice skating! (plus the shop is great 😉)

From coffee pod to pendant, here's a snippet of how something once used and discarded can be transformed into a beautiful piece of jewellery!

I collect and clean each pod, giving them a new life. The aluminum is perfect for making unique necklaces that are not only pretty but also tell a story.

I don't know what the Rio green Pod tastes like but I love the leafy pattern 🌿

Until I made this reel, I assumed a choker was the one closest to your neck... And well, could potentially choke you!

Turns out, there's a collar length that's even closer to your neck then the choker.

Note: some jewellery brands swap definitions, but standard sizing usually treats the collar as the shorter piece.
