When you’ve been staring at your humans for 20 minutes and they STILL haven’t worked out what you want… 👀

Dylan: “I shouldn’t have to explain myself!”

Apparently the death stare is his preferred method of communication. 😂

Someone's missing from this chair... 🎄🐾
I'm working on a little Christmas card collection - cosy dogs tucked inside a festive bauble, each one hand-drawn in Procreate.
Which breeds would you love to see? Tell me in the comments 👇

Took Dylan out for a walk and just stopped for five minutes to listen to the birds. Honestly, it's the best bit of my day. This is where most of my ideas come from 🌿
What's the best thing you've spotted outside this week?

All the love - Lou ❤️

A year ago today i sat down and starting drawing this robin in coloured pencil.
Looking back at it now still makes me smile, its definitely one of my favourites. I plan of giving some my older drawings a new life so this year i’ll be adding it to my range of greetings cards! So keep an eye out

Introducing my most recent pet portrait, Tilly & Doris!

I loved working on this one, from the glitter crowns to the sweetest little bandanas, getting every tuft of fur just right took a fair few passes, but there's something quite lovely about capturing a pet portrait like this. It's the kind of piece a family gets to keep forever. Shared with permission.

If you'd love something similar for your own pet, commissions are open and I'd love to create something special for you too. Just send me a message!

Hey there! I need your help with something.
I've been working my way through the hedgerows near me this year, blackberries and crab apples so far, and elderberries are next on the list.
But after that I'm stuck! So I thought I'd ask the people who actually look at my work.
What would you like to see me draw? A bird, a berry, a beastie, anything that turns up in a Devon hedge. Pop it in the comments and I'll pick one to do next!

While I've got you. If you've been thinking about a pet portraits for the dreaded C word… now is the time to have a little word with me. They take a while to do properly and I'd much rather draw a few really well than rush a pile of them in December! Just drop me a message, no pressure at all.

All the love Lou ❤️

My boy Dylan
Finally finished a portrait of my boy Dylan!
The Brindle and his distinguished salt & pepper look was definitely a challenge but I’m super happy with the result!
