For Brenda ✨ super sparkles - from a traditional claw setting with multiple diamonds ( one was missing ) - so a simple re-design but keeping the same shape as it had to fit perfectly in to a wishbone band - so a technical challenge too!

For Ian ✨ I was brought this stone earlier this year, and it was a whopper….! Apart from a super duper impractical cocktail ring, it could only really be a pendant. My client wanted a minimal, Scandi-style design. To make this beautiful blue topaz pop, we went for 14k yellow gold and 9k white gold ( no rhodium ). It worked really well, simple clean curves, contrast to make the gemstone pop, and light bouncing around at every angle possible through this lens-like design ✨

For Mirka ✨ an oval amethyst and old gold, repurposed in to a simple and wearable ring. Clean lines, fuss-free setting and a polished finish. I’ve gently tapered the band for elegance and comfort, the bezel is thick, yellow gold being a classic contrast to the regal purple amethyst.

For Gordon ✨ a mixture of old gold rings, blended together to make this rich and warm toned band. There were some little rubies to use, and rather than a standard design of having them in a row, I decided to cluster them together and surround them with a texture where I’ve worked in to the metal and then polished it to create a unique almost reptilian effect. Taking such tiny faceted rubies from a ladies ring, I didn’t want them to look too ‘pretty’, I also had to be very careful as they already had some wear. The texture was given some definition and control as I took it diagonally across the otherwise high polished surface of the ring, the contrast worked really well. I’ll definitely be bringing more of this effect into future pieces ✨

For Gill ✨ And one for the month of August as peridot is this month’s birthstone ✨ The design was kept simple, setting in repurposed yellow gold, and mixing in some white topaz highlights. This peridot is almost 1 cm wide so it sits proud across the top of the finger. Peridot is one of few stones that only comes in one colour - from lime green to olive - formed from the mineral olivine. Described as ‘evening emerald’ by ancient Romans - the colour doesn’t fade as the day does - it has much vibrancy from candlelight ✨

For Susy & Rose ✨ One pair of gold diamond and mabe pearl earrings - they were full of sparkle but a little too much for my client. So, rather than them not being enjoyed, we decided to take off the outer halo of diamonds and the clips and simplified to a much more wearable pair of drop earrings. Then, as it was my client’s daughters wedding approaching, a pendant with an organic sea-shell and barnacle effect was created, with little water cast gold shapes, diamonds and some careful texture ✨ suitable for all brides ( and mermaids 🧜🏻‍♀️) alike.
