I recorded this just before heading to Chelsea flower show. This is a garden I designed as a productive space, where my client could grow vegetables, fruit, and other edibles throughout the year.

From my very first visit, the garden had the atmosphere of a traditional walled garden, and that became the guiding inspiration for the design.

As you move through the garden, there’s a real feeling of being within a walled garden environment. One of my favourite features is the sunken, edged lawn, which brings structure and definition.

However what I love most now, is the atmosphere. Whenever I visit, you can always hear the birds singing. It has such a peaceful, established feel, and it’s wonderful to see how the garden has matured into a space that is both productive and deeply relaxing.

Wow we have done it, I can’t believe it, another Build done.✔️ What a fantastic team, thanks to everyone who has helped us to get the garden built. I can not believe this is my 4th time building for Chelsea!! Each built has its challenges but we have done it and I am so grateful for all the help I have received this year. have been amazing, all the volunteers have been incredible, they work extremely hard digging and planting plants and it’s hard work, and doing it for the love of it. Then all the nursery’s that help us growing the plants such hard work And this year across the show ground people have been so kind helping me out when a few things have gone wrong. This is what I do love about Chelsea Flower Show I have met some amazing people along the way who have become life long friends. I am very grateful, there will of course be more photos to come but for now. Happy Saturday everyone

I’m always so grateful that, years ago, I tucked these snowdrops into the soil. Now, every winter, I look out of my kitchen window onto a tapestry of snowdrops and hellebores quietly doing their thing and honestly, they never fail to lift my spirits.

After a long, heavy winter, those first nodding white heads and the rich, resilient blooms of hellebores feel like a promise that brighter days are coming. The beauty of it? I haven’t had to do a thing. No fuss, no replanting they simply return, stronger and more generous each year.

This is why planting matters. It’s an investment in your future self. In those moments when the season feels endless, your garden gently reminds you that life is still stirring beneath the surface.
