That’s our Easter-theme week over in a flash!

Thanks to all the students for coming along to celebrate last week, I hope a fun time was had by all.

But it’s official, I’m all Eastered out! 🤪 (I’ll still gladly accept chocolate or Easter cards this week though haha not hinting or anything 😉!)

Results for the following competitions will be revealed over the coming weeks -

* Slick-Chick Colouring Competition

I reckon all my students have dived into their treat bags by now and I think that the next time someone says to them ‘have you got a pen I can borrow’ they should laugh (but more like a snigger) and say ‘a pen’ who just has ‘a pen’ these days, I have a ‘carrot pen’ and no you most definitely can’t borrow it 🤣! Pen thief’s are everywhere, you can never be too careful 👀!

I hope all my students have a lovely Easter-break and will return ready to get back to business because we have some busy months ahead and with theme-weeks over until later in the year there won’t be any additional chocolate to fuel you!

And to close our ‘eggcellent’ Easter-theme week here is my Easter poem to all my students -

Happy Easter to my class,
The Easter-vibe check you easily pass,
And before long, like an egg-laying hen
Our Easter-theme week will be happening again!

We’ll be looking forward to hop til’ we drop,
Games, competitions, and fun props the lot,
I’ll be working really hard hoping to make,
Another week memorable, cool, and great.

You’ll think you’re most funny,
Having me spend lots of money,
And though I’ll be spoiling you rotten, it’s never forgotten,

So that’s it folks, it’s now time to reset the theme-week and look to the future because next week is ‘EASTER WEEK’!

More goodies, more competitions, more details to follow, you won’t want to miss it! 🐥

Meanwhile I feel like I’m on a theme-week rollercoaster and so after Easter I’ll be glad to get off this ride and send it on its way until Halloween! 😬

The next event coming up will be the BIGGEST event of the year and it’s happening in July! Students will begin to prepare for this as of April. 🎶

“There’s no time to rest when you want to give the best” and I am forever focused on making every student’s piano journey fun, happy, calm, and cool, and I don’t think it gets much cooler than times like this! 💝

I’m a little late with the rest of the ‘Valentine’s Week’ COMPETITION results 😬 (there’s literally so much to do for a theme-week I need to clone myself to handle my own event haha! 😅)

Ok so let’s start with the ‘Cupid’s Colourers’ competition…

The entries were grouped into -
* Age 5-9
* Age 10-14
* Adults

Here’s the wonderful entries (except ‘adult entries’ as there are some delays in submitting their work so this will be revealed at a later date).

The students already know the results of this competition and have collected their Gold, Silver, and Bronze cash prizes this week! 💵 💰

A huge WELL DONE to all those that took part, your finished products were so great! A few of you really blew me away with your entries and I’m so pleased so many of you got stuck into the challenge! I loved seeing all the different interpretations of the pictures, lots of creativity all round and it was a real treat to see. 👏

Still to come… the RESULTS of the ‘Design/Make Miss Lisa something lovely to keep’ competition, so keep a look out 👀 for another post soon!

Don’t skim or you’ll miss the good stuff!

Hey, Miss Lisa here 👩‍🏫…

Last week myself and the students enjoyed a lovely week of VALENTINE’S celebration!

This event is 1 of 4 fun weeks that I host throughout the year where students partake in games, competitions, fun photos with props, and are given themed activity homework and treats/gifts.

After organising the above, the students leave loving life, and I leave penniless and tired 🤣, but hey, as long as they leave feeling lovely and loved then that’s what love is all about right, putting others before ourselves 💞.

I hope my many students enjoyed VALENTINE’S WEEK 2026, now it’s your turn to pass on the love to your family and friends and make them feel just as special. Go spread love and kindness, I insist!

Now… even though I’m regretting the amount of admin work needed to finalise my competitions I’m crazily going to add yet ANOTHER, yes that’s right I’ve got one last surprise up my sleeve…

I’m looking for ‘straw selfies’! All students were given a love heart paper straw in their treat bags. Those that send me a fun selfie featuring the student using their straw or posing with their straw will be in with yet another treat! The first person to send their ‘straw selfie’ via Facebook messenger or email will win a free 30 min lesson with me (choose between art and craft/ukulele/singing). All other ‘straw selfies’ received after this can choose between a £1 Snack-Shack spend OR a no-homework week!

If you’ve already used your straw for Valentine’s Day and binned it, then a red or pink straw would be an acceptable alternative (but it must be fully red and/or pink).

On your marks, get set, GOOOOOOO!

When you buy a whole book of ballads just because you discovered one of the songs features your name! How could I resist, it had to be done! 🤣

It’s the last song in a book of 19 songs and I refuse to let myself play it until I’ve played the other 18 first, 12 down 6 to go, save the best for last and all that 😉. It’s looking easier than some of the previous songs in the book though so by the time I play it I’d of earnt it and it had better be worth the wait! 😬

🎹 EXAM RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT 🎹

Happy New Year’s Eve eve! 💥

Christmas aside 🎄(hope it was a gooden!), I have a final post to share this year, bringing another cause for celebration, it just keeps on coming haha… 😬

I’d like to share with you all the wonderful achievement of 2 of my awesome students. 👥

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to -

CAROLINE 🏆 and MICHAEL 🏆

At the start of December both Caroline and Michael did an ABRSM Piano Practical exam. 😬

CAROLINE was awarded a MERIT for Grade 2 ⭐ 🌷

MICHAEL was awarded a MERIT for Grade 1 ⭐ 🌻

Much time and effort was put into preparing for these significant milestones and I’m so incredibly proud and pleased with the outcome for them. ‘In person’ exams can be a nerve wrecking experience but you still both went and smashed it! That’s another shiny certificate each that you’ve both grafted for and thoroughly earnt. 👏

Up up, wakey cakey 🍰, rise and wine🍷(over 18’s only!) because it’s Christmas time! ⏰

It’s CHRISTMAS DAY🎄 and I’d like to say…

I wish all my students and their families a Musical and Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a fun, restful, and special time with your loved ones over the remainder of the festive break. 🥰

Ps - Don’t worry I told Santa you’re ALL on the NICE list 😉 but he said delivering you all a grand piano would bring his sleigh down 😔, there’s only one way for it then… he’s going to need a bigger sleigh, problem solved, he can thank me later! 😆

He wanted me to pass on this message in the meantime, and he wants it to hit you right in the feels’… 💞

‘It’s not what you play on, it’s how you play it and why you play it’. 🥹

So he’s sending a special place in your hearts for all that playing the piano means to you so that you can continue to play with love and cherish the music you make. 🎹

And incase you were wondering what he’s sent me… some teacher’s pocket money to restock your stickers and the ‘snack shack’ for the New Year, and some motivation to tidy the teaching room before you all bound back through the door. The latter is going to need an actual miracle though (as it is currently comparable to a hoarder’s paradise!) 🤣. I might even have to borrow one of his elves through the year as a paperwork/sheet music organiser, the sheer volume of it all feels like it’s taking over my life 🤯! And if I can’t borrow an elf… I may have to seek out some willing volunteers of elf-size instead (aka the children students!) to lend their 10 fingers for the potential of a monetary bonus for a job well done haha! Call it early ‘work experience’ if you like, probably qualifies! 😆
