πΈ A LITTLE SHOUT OUT FOR YOUR EVENT PHOTOGRAPHERS πΈ
I've been asked quite a lot recently, "Does the event pay you to be there?"
And the answer is... nope π
Your event photographers generally make their money from YOU buying the photos afterwards.
We turn up, often travel a fair distance, pay for fuel, spend the whole day photographing, then go home and spend even more hours sorting, uploading and getting everything ready for you guys to see.
And until those photos start selling, we genuinely have no idea what we've earned for that day's work. π
I completely understand times are hard at the moment β they are for all of us! But without people supporting event photographers, eventually we simply can't afford to keep turning up.
And just to add to that...
Please, PLEASE don't screenshot images and use AI/apps to remove the watermark. π
It might seem harmless because "it's only one photo", but that photo is literally how we've been paid for the work we've already done. Removing a watermark instead of purchasing the image is stealing our work and, quite literally, taking food off our tables.
There aren't many jobs where you can work all day, have absolutely no idea what you're going to earn... and then have somebody steal the thing you've made afterwards. ππ
This genuinely isn't meant to be a negative post though!
It's actually a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me this year. π€ Whether you've bought one image, a full gallery, booked me, recommended me or shared my work β you've helped XD Photography keep turning up to these events and I appreciate it more than you probably realise.
And please don't just support me β support the photographers at ALL the events you attend. Because if the support disappears, eventually the photographers will too.
Obviously though... please help a girl out.
I really need to buy some toner. πππ
(When you see me, you'll understand.)
And probably put some food on the table too. ππ
We're all currently living that nearly-Β£2-a-litre fuel life, so even if you can't buy a photo, you can still help!
π€ Share the gallery.
π€ Recommend the photographer.
π€ Like/comment on your photos.
π€ Tag your mates.
π€ Tell everyone.
π€ Tell your nan.
π€ Tell your nan's dog.
It genuinely all helps us get seen.
Thank you for keeping us doing what we love. πΈπ€
