πΎ Why Regular Grooming Is Important for Spaniels πΎ
Spaniels are known for their beautiful, silky coats and those gorgeous feathery ears⦠but that stunning coat needs regular maintenance to keep it healthy and comfortable.
β¨ Matting Prevention
Spaniels have fine, dense fur that easily tangles β especially behind the ears, under the legs, on the chest, and around the tail. Without regular brushing and grooming, these tangles quickly turn into tight mats that can pull on the skin and cause pain.
β¨ Ear Care
Those lovely long ears can trap moisture and reduce airflow, making spaniels more prone to ear infections. Regular grooming includes checking, cleaning, and keeping the ear area tidy to help prevent problems before they start.
β¨ Skin Health
A professional groom removes dead coat, dirt, and debris while allowing us to check for lumps, bumps, hotspots, or irritation. Early detection is key!
β¨ Comfort & Hygiene
Keeping feathers trimmed and paws neat helps prevent mud build-up, knotting, and slipping. A tidy sanitary trim also keeps your spaniel clean and comfortable between baths.
I generally recommend spaniels visit the groomer every 6β8 weeks, depending on coat type and lifestyle.
A well-groomed spaniel isnβt just about looks β itβs about comfort, health, and happinessβ€οΈ
