I’m on the lookout for inspiration for my next designs and some bespoke pieces I need to create when I return.

📣 Benchpeg has been engaged with co-ordinating the effort to submit entries to the DCMS UNESCO intangible heritage crafts inventory to represent our inherent skill sets.

⚒️ The aim of which would be to gain recognition and visibility and potentially safeguard and preserve what is listed within the inventory – and so far the team of volunteers have identified areas such as:
Metal Forming; Finishing Processes; Decorative Crafts; Tool Making; Flatware; Jewellery; Lapidary; Wax Carving; Stone Setting; Horology; Designer maker and Commercial Silversmithing; Trade Silversmithing and Allied Crafts; Hallmarking and Trial of the Pyx as limited umbrella terms as a mechanism to list areas of skill within the craft, trade and industry.

🗜️ All of these entries will need community endorsement from those who practice skill sets in the above categories including (but not exclusive) Silversmithing; Spinning; Stamping; Buffing; Polishing; Plating; Chasing; Engraving; Enamelling; Wood Turning; Stone Turning; Die Sinking; Hand Forging; Pressing; Filing; Jewellery Making; Stone Cutting; Stone Carving; Seal Engraving; Wax Carving; Stone Setting; Watchmaking; Clock-making to be ‘verified’ as a valid entry.

💡 If you would like to lend your community endorsement as an individual or workshop who practices any of the above, please email us with a sentence something like:
“I would like to endorse and support the UNESCO entry for ***”
And provide your name and business name.

❓ We also need three rights free images to accompany each skill set per admission - do you have any to donate?
