Silversmithing Final Week! 🩶

These past 8 weeks have been incredible and I’ve loved every second of learning how to use metal to make beautiful jewellery. Very grateful to be able to attend and learn from such amazing silversmiths 🥰

Today I finalised my pendant, from design to cutting, punching shapes, soldering, sanding, polishing and pickling! I also added a lacquer to the copper to keep it from oxidising to get my final Silver Pendant in my own design!
I also had some spare material and some spare time so I made a smaller heart pendant ready to be worn. 😄

Fingers crossed I’ll be able to attend the next batch of courses to learn to make rings!

Silversmithing Week 8 - Starting Final Project 🩶

Today I started my final project using the skills I’ve learnt so far in the course. With 4 hours left I managed to cut the silver into a pendant and started sanding. Still needs a bit of tidying up but almost ready for be copper additions!

Silversmithing Week 7 - Design practices 📝

This week we had to bring a design into class to see if it was feasible to make before ordering silver. Mine is a silver cathedral window with some copper flowers and birds. I had a go at making the main part of my design in copper before committing to buying the silver to start it next week! Same process as before with cutting, sawing, sanding and polishing the copper!
