WORK IN PROGRESS:
The River of Life ring set has been signed off by my client so now it's ready for stone setting, laser engraving and hallmarking. It's been a complex process to get this far so it's a bit of a relief to finally be at this point and to hand it on to other experts to help me complete it for my client.
So far this project has used the following:
• stone polishing to reshape a garnet
• wax carving the Putney River inspired ring
• casting the wax model as solid silver
• recycling gold
• hand making the gold ring to fit around the silver one
• resizing both rings following fitting appointment
Yet to come:
• stone setter
• laser engraver
• assay office to Hallmark each ring
This is why projects can take such a long time to complete. There can be multiple processed and people to include.
The life of bespoke jewellery is rarely a straight line but it keeps my brain busy, engaged and alive so I wouldn't change it for anything. 🧡
