Has it been one of those weeks in your house?

If you are a parent you will know the kids are taking their exams. There is tension in the house and support that is always needed even if it is the silent support of calm, regular meals and gentle hugs.

If you are the child of an older parent there are issues and modern tech, which causes stresses and needs support to correct problems when they don’t know how to sort it out.

If you are employed or run a small business these things do bleed into your life and everything slows down.

But thats ok, we all have this craziness in our lives but we just don’t always share it. So underneath our beautiful social world of pretty pictures, remember...

- it’s ok to slow down,
- it’s ok to take longer to do your work,
- it’s ok to give yourself time.
Be kind to yourself and others that need a little more time too.

Working part-time in a welfare department, teaches me on a regular basis that we all have a lot going on in our lives, we deal with lots of things and some times it all happens at the same time. We don't control this, but the best way to deal with it, is sharing, being patient, giving ourselves time and not letting it spiral out of control and burning ourselves out.

Remember be kind to yourself and others, you never know what is underneath the pretty pictures.

p.s from the heart, no ai, yes I think there are typos!

Just a reminder that, a little bit of nature is very important to restore you.

Don’t forget to stop and enjoy it.

I found these busy bees at the allotment today after dropping my youngest for his English exam.

The flowers were extraordinary. The people were better.

It's been a week now, and the thing that has stayed with me isn't a single display. It's the conversations.

I met Georgie from Common Farm Flowers and we talked about the club she's built, a real community of people who love flowers and grow them and gather around them. I stood on Louise's stand and watched a steady stream of people come up just to say hello to her. I thought I was good at talking to people. Louise is something else. She makes connection look like the easiest thing in the world, and watching her, I realised it's a craft in its own right.

I came home thinking less about what I saw and more about what I want to build. Not just jewellery, but a community. My own tribe of flower and jewellery lovers. People who care about beautiful things made slowly, and who want to be part of the story rather than just buy the end of it.

That's what Gathered & Kept is for. It's my fortnightly letter from the studio, and it's where this little community is starting to grow.

If that sounds like your kind of place, use this link to join https://www.lizzychambers.com/newsletter I'd love to have you.

P.S. I also came home with the best gardening tip about alliums. That one's for another day.

And that is a wrap! Thanks to for hosting us and for arranging a super event. It was so lovely to meet lots of amazing new clients all with their own stories. From 25 year wedding anniversary to children inspired to be more creative!

I have loved getting to know my neighbours and all spending time laughing and sharing over the last 6 days.

Looking forward to a little bit of rest today as 6 days of super early get ups are tough. Plus a little bit of time in my own garden too.
