🌊 The Word We Shall Not Use…

A customer came into the shop chatting away about the area and said the one word she would use to describe Caithness was…

“Bleak.” 😳

Well, I nearly spat my tea out! ☕️😂

I had to stop myself from being rude, obviously… although I’m pretty sure my face gave away exactly what I was thinking! 😳🤣

The customer quickly realised she may have chosen her words rather badly and started to backtrack.

And to be fair, it was just the wrong choice of word — she certainly didn’t mean to offend.

But bleak?!

Nope. We’re not having that! 😂

🧩 The Impossible Jigsaw Hunt

We have a rather special jigsaw in the shop — an exclusive John o’ Groats jigsaw, commissioned by us and created by an artist who used to live locally. ❤️

So, one day, a customer is chatting away to her companion, loudly and enthusiastically…

“Oh, this would be perfect for Uncle Jim! He loves jigsaws!”

“AND it’s a holiday gift too — amazing! We’ll definitely get that!” 😍

We’re thinking…

Result! 🙌🏻

Except…

They don’t pick it up. 😳

So I explain that it’s exclusive to us and is only available right here, in this exact shop.

Surely now they’ll realise they’d better grab it?

Nope. 😂

They decide they’ll find it somewhere else during the rest of their NC500 trip.

🤦‍♀️

Okay then…

Good luck with that! 🤣

We’ll just be here with our exclusive John o’ Groats jigsaws while you search the Highlands for one that doesn’t exist anywhere else.

This Monday it’s Marchael’s pick — Strings and Dreams! 🕯️✨

We have wax melts, diffusers and candles, with prices ranging from £11–£20.

Marchael’s favourite is Rhubarb Crumble — it smells so fresh and delicious! 😋
