Meet our Valerie Pendant, featuring a GIA-certified 3ct pear shape diamond 💎💛✨

Here’s the thing - this isn’t a Fancy Yellow diamond, its a GIA W-X colour which is exactly why it’s such incredible value!

Diamonds graded on the Fancy Yellow scale are much more expensive than diamonds in the lower-colour ranges on the white diamond scale.

For context: low-colour white diamonds like W–X are graded on the white scale, meaning they start at D for colourless, and go down to Z which has an obvious yellow tinge. A Fancy Yellow diamond, shows a clearer, stronger yellow presence that places it into a the fancy yellow diamond scale, and into a MUCH higher pricing tier.

So while the Valerie Pendant’s stone is W–X (not Fancy Yellow), it’s set in a cupped 18k yellow gold setting - and that’s where the magic happens. The setting is designed to help enhance the naturally yellow tinted colour of the stone, making it look more vibrant and saturated - without paying the Fancy Yellow premium.

💎 Bigger isn’t always better
Carat weight doesn’t determine how sparkly a diamond will look. The cut and how the stone is proportioned impact brilliance - so don’t buy purely by size/weight.

💎 Colour grades can be very subtle 
Many differences in colour are only noticeable in certain lighting or when viewed side-by-side. In most everyday settings, a well-chosen near-colourless stone can look just as bright - meaning you may not need the highest colour grade to get the look you want.

💎 Clarity is often misunderstood and overpaid for.
Many inclusions are too small to see with the naked eye, and some clarity differences only appear under magnification. If your goal is beauty and value, choosing a slightly lower clarity grade can save without sacrificing on beauty.

💎 Cut is king!
If there’s one grading factor that impacts a diamonds beauty, it’s cut. A diamond with excellent proportions and symmetry can look more brilliant even if colour or clarity are a bit lower.

💎 “Labelling” doesn’t guarantee identical appearance.
Two diamonds can share the same grade on paper and still look different, because grading is a standard - not a perfect visual recipe. A report can tell you what’s expected, but your best judge is always the diamond itself

💎 Fluorescence can be more nuanced than people assume.
Some diamonds with fluorescence may actually look brighter in certain lighting conditions, especially in daylight. Others can show haze-like effects - so it’s worth understanding how fluorescence behaves rather than automatically assuming it’s bad.

💎 Value comes from balancing grades, not chasing perfection.
The best value diamonds are usually chosen with strategy - prioritising cut and selecting colour/clarity levels where the visual difference is minimal but the price difference is meaningful.
