Appreciation post for this beautiful beast. The most gangsta piece of jewellery I ever made. An homage to the Denver Broncos, and commissioned by a lifetime fan, its already travelled the world to be pitch side for many Broncos games. Its now packing its bags again for their 25th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii where it will be at not one but two games! Best of luck Denver Broncos

It can feel frustrating how some days I can be so busy at the bench and have no finished pieces to show for it! But a day spend melting and rolling and hammering metal is just as important as the final steps of stone setting and polishing. Slow and steady prep work is smoothing the way for efficient production later on. The same as in life, the days that feel repetitive and boring may just be setting you up for later succes 👍

I had such a heartwarming moment yesterday while I was working in Made In Kinsale Cork. This lovely couple came in for a browse. They were looking at the jewellery and so I introduced myself. Only to discover they where one of my first ever commission jobs, about 4 years ago! And she was wearing the pendant I'd made!! We had never met, they live in the UK, and I was just completely blown away. Now that is serendipity!! Every commission brings me joy and pride but those early ones will always have a special place in my heart. It means so much to a maker just starting out when you place your trust in their work, you never know a bit of support will give someone the encouragement they need to follow their dreams!! So grateful to Steve and Chris, it was amazing to finally meet you guys 🥰

🐚This morning I took my little shell pendants back to the ocean where they were conceived. I just knew they needed to be photographed in their natural environment, and maybe there really is the salty rustle of the waves captured in the little conch now. It's such magic to take something as delicate as a sea shell and immortalise it in silver and gold. A little anchor to the ocean for those with some sea water in their veins.

🐚On another note, my commission book for September is officially full now and almost the first couple of weeks of October too. I really will have to have a cut off point for Christmas orders this year. I always say I will and end up taking them till the last minute, but I've so many commitments this season my time really will be limited. My goal this year was to find a balance between work and 'life' and I am determined. That said I can only thank you all from the bottom of my heart because what a privilege it is to be so busy doing something I love so much. Your trust and support means everything 🙏🥰

Important Announcement!

I am sad to say that for the foreseeable future I will no longer be able to ship my items to other EU countries. As of the 12th of August strict new packaging laws are coming into force which means:

1. I would have to register with every individual country I ship to, and they all have different requirements
2. Employ a representative in each country to manage my conformity
3. Document and weigh every item within my packages, box, tissue, ribbon, sticker, and pay all recycling fees for each country

These costs are reconned to be between €300 and €1200 PER COUNTRY PER YEAR.

I thought that one of the benefits of being in the EU was that we could trade easily with other member States but that is sadly now being restricted for small businesses. These restrictions and fees wont be a problem for big multinationals with lots of staff and deep pockets but it will be hugely damaging to small businesses. These regulations are moving very fast and I dont fully understand everything, so for now I have simply turned off the shipping options for every country other than Ireland. Im sorry for any disappointment caused. I hope there is something to be done in the future but for now thats all I can do ❤️‍🩹
