עיצוב בקופסאות שימורים ממוחדשות-להסתכל בקופסא ולא במה שהיה בה
שנים רבות עסקתי בצורפות, ובמקביל הלך וגדל העניין שלי בתחום איכות הסביבה והקיימות. למרות שאני ממחזרת באדיקות כבר שנים, תמיד הרגשתי שאפשר גם אחרת.
קופסאות השימורים תמיד קרצו לי. משהו בפשטות ובפרקטיות שלהן עורר בי רצון לבדוק מה עוד אפשר לעשות לעשות מהן. לא נראה לי הגיוני לזרוק אותן, אפילו אם מדובר על פח מיחזור. מהצצה קצרה
בפינטרסט ודומיו, הסתבר לי שאני בחברה טובה.
המשכתי לעצב ולייצר תכשיטים, ובמקביל הלכה וגבהה לה בסטודיו ערימה של קופסאות שימורים בכל הגדלים והצורות, מטונה ועד כרוב כבוש. בשלב מסוים אי אפשר הי להתעלם מהנוכחות שלהן, ומהבקשה האילמת לא להזרק למיחזור אלא להתחיל חיים חדשים. הסתכלתי להן בכסוף של העיניים ואמרתי- "אוקיי, ניצחתן. אני עוצרת הכל ונותנת לכן צ'אנס".
אז עכשיו זה הTin Time, זמן הפח (כחומר, לא כאשפה). קופסאות טונה הפכו לשעונים, קופסאות זיתים למנורות, קופסאות ענק של חמוצים לכלי איחסון ויש עוד מליון רעיונות שמחכים לתורם.
השימוש החוזר, או השימוש החדש (UPCYCLING, REPURPOSE, מיחדוש) ידידותיים יותר לסביבה מאחר ואין צורך בתהליכים ארוכים וצורכי אנרגיה הדרושים לייצור חומר גלם חדש.
כדרכם של חמרי גלם ממוחדשים, תהליך האיסוף ארוך ומורכב. אני אוספת קופסאות שהיו בשימוש אצל צרכנים פרטיים ובעסקים מקומיים בתחום המזון. במקום שהקופסאות תגענה לפחים הכתומים, במקרה הטוב, הן מגיעות אלי לסטודיו ועוברות שטיפה יסודית, טיפול בקצוות החדים שמשאיר הפותחן, ריקוע, צביעה ושאר תהליכי הכנה לחיים החדשים שלהן. אני משתדלת להשתמש בכל חלקי הקופסא.
בשלבי העבודה בהם דרושה לי עזרה מבעלי מקצוע חיצוניים, אני מעדיפה עסקים קטנים ומקומיים , המנוהלים ע"י אנשים נחמדים שחולקים איתי את ההתלהבות מהאפשרויות הגלומות בקופסא פשוטה כל כך.
אני מאוד אוהבת את המוצר הסופי, אבל גם מאוד נהנית מהדרך אליו. פגשתי אנשים מקסימים ומוכשרים, נחשפתי לטכנולוגיות שלא הכרתי, העליתי חיוך על פניהם של לקוחות שנתקלו במוצרים לראשונה ובדרכי עזרתי קצת ליצור סביבה טובה ונקייה יותר.
אז בכל פעם שמישהו פוגש אותי ואומר-" אתמול חשבתי עלייך", ומספר לי משהו שקשור לקופסאות שימורים, אני חווה רגע של נחת. אם ילך ויתרחב מעגל האנשים שהמוצרים שלי נתנו להם השראה למחדש דברים נוספים וגרמו להם לחשוב פעמיים לפני שזורקים, אני אדע שאת שלי עשיתי וגם נהניתי תוך כדי. עם הזמן, הצטרפו חומרים נוספים לרפרטואר הממוחזר וכיום אני יוצרת עבודות אמנות מפריטים בשימוש חוזר ומעבירה סדנאות בתחום היצירה הממוחזרת.
אז מוזמנים לעקוב אחרי המסע הממוחדש שלי . I was a jewelry maker for many years, used to craftsmanship and channeling my creativity into the design, and at the same time, my interest and fascination with environmental work and recycling became an urge I couldn't resist. Something about their practicality and simplicity was irresistible to me. It didn't make sense to throw them out or even recycle them. As I worked on jewelry making, the tin can pile in my studio was growing at a rapid pace. Tin cans in all sizes, from tuna to cabbage, everyone was collecting them for me, family, neighbors, friends, even local businesses! Finally, I realized the pile could no longer be ignored. The urge to transform these tin cans into new creations became my number one priority, and everything else moved aside. The evolution came from understanding that these tin cans are full of endless potential. Olive cans into lamps! Large tin cans that formerly held pickled vegetables, transformed into awesome containers! The more I made, the more ideas came! Like with all upcycled items, the process of collecting them is long. Once the tin cans arrive in my studio they go through a process of intense cleaning, smoothing out the sharp edges, hammering out and coloring. Everything necessary for the items' repurposes. I try to use each part of the tin container. Still, with all the work that goes into it, it is an easier process than making a new material. I love the fact that this is helping the environment, and not taking from it. If I need to outsource parts of the creation process, I insist on working with small, local businesses that share my passion for simple, pro-environmental work. People who share my enthusiasm for upcycled products. I love the finished products very much, but I also truly enjoy the process of making them. I have met lovely and talented people along the way, learned new techniques and best of all, made people smile with my new creations. All the while, I feel I made my small contribution to conserving the environment. Every time someone tells me they thought of me, as they found some tin cans or recycled goods, I feel great.
