HELLO SUNSHINE ☀️
I’m Ivona - Iva to my friends, and my story begins with a 14-year-old girl standing on a beach in St. Malo, France, staring out at the Atlantic and making a promise to herself:
One day, I will live by the sea. ⚓️
Originally Croatian from a tiny mountain village in Bosnia & Herzegovina, I spent most of my childhood in Vienna before life really 😅 somehow carried me to the shores of the Mediterranean in Tel Aviv, where I live today.
I live by the beach, and even now, my heart expands a little every time i get to see the ocean.🩵
The Mediterranean.
The same sea that touches Croatia.
The same sea that connects my old home to my home now. 🫠
I’m lucky, I grew up in a family of creators.
My mother always seemed to be making something with her beautiful hands. Sewing, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, crafting…
My father built a few family homes in his life. And he can repair almost anything. Also, he keeps bees. 🐝
And I grew up watching.
Listening.
Learning.
Years later, when my children were small, we traveled constantly.
Two months here.
Three months there.
A life packed into suitcases.
I needed work that could travel with me.
And I needed to create.
That’s how NUCO Design was born.
My small business inspired by the sea, freedom, travel, craftsmanship, and people whose souls exhale when they see the ocean.
Today I create sterling silver jewelry for sailors, surfers, stargazers, beach dreamers, and free spirits… and for the shops and concept stores that serve them.😊
Every piece is handmade with care and created to last.
