It is a gemstone that is a fusion of malachite's deep green bands and chrysocolla's blue-green hues.
It is opaque in transparency with a vitreous to dull luster.
It is a minor ore of copper and is found in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies.
It is also known as "Malacholla" or "Malacolla".
