Margaret Goodson Graham Studios I created Centering Pendants to reCenter yourSelf in seconds. Start feeling calm, even in chaos. I received a B.A. It only takes Seconds to Center. Namaste

It wasn’t until I quit my day job, got quiet and still, and asked the Universe to bring more purpose and meaning to my jewelry that I really began to make what I’m meant to make: Pendants with Purpose. My journey in art began at a young age: appreciating artwork by M.C. Escher, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Ansel Adams on the walls of my childhood home; looking forward to hand painted and hand carved orna

ments from my Grandma at every Christmas; and watching my older sister draw. in Art from UNC Asheville in 2002, concentration in ceramics, taught myself to make jewelry in 2006 and took a metalsmithing class in 2009. I made Gritgoods Jewelry for 10 years, selling online, in galleries and at many festivals in the Southeast. My new line of silver work is incredibly fulfilling and inspired by my experiences with yoga (I am 200hr certified through the Asheville Yoga Center) and meditation. My pendants are a work of art and a functional tool:
A functional tool because they serve as a mindfulness aid. When you touch your pendant, your fingers slide to the middle and meet in the center, creating a well known hand mudra (gesture) in the yoga/meditation world. Connecting the tips of the fingers can calm and center you, lift dull energy, and brighten your mood. When your fingers find each other in the center of the pendant, you also find your center. If you find yourself frustrated and too busy to meditate or do yoga, this pendant will help remind you to take just a few deep breaths to feel mindful and calm. Every pendant is also a handmade work of art. I start with a hand drawn design, pressed into precious metal clay, which is then assembled and fired at 1650 degrees in a kiln. The pieces come out as 99.9% pure silver and they are all double sided. The pendants are then tumbled, oxidized, brushed, polished, tumbled again, and ready to serve. The form of my pendants is completely unique. You will feel the energy of the Universe funneled through the front of your pendant, through the hole, and into your body, and know that the energy you create is also funneled back into the Universe. When your fingers slide to center along the two sided funnel shape, it will give you a feeling of coming home. When I touch my pendant I feel full, centered, complete, and grounded. And speaking of grounding, I create every pendant standing up, in mountain pose. As I make each one, mindful of balancing equally in both feet and grounding through the earth, I imagine the positive energy of the universe flowing up through my bare feet, through my body and out of my hands into your pendant. I know this pendant is capable of helping you through challenging situations, and to completely feel moments of joy and happiness. Buy a pendant that speaks to you. What you need, what you want, who you are and I will send you a mantra to use with it.

Which one speaks to you?

This summer I’m looking for to:

Another 10-day Vipassana meditation stint at Dhamma Patama

So many birthdays, including my own… August 6th 😉

Going on road trips … to art shows…

Camping at Grayson Highlands…

Mushroom foraging 😋

All the water things…

And at the end of this summer Fred and I will celebrate 10 years being married and take a trip to Bonaire and Switzerland!

Finding joy and happiness for this amazing season and all it has to offer.

I am worthy, I am grateful. 🥹

As the days get longer and longer I am increasingly eager to make the most of them.

I love to take the opportunity this time of year to get up earlier and recommit to habit stacking things to my morning routine so that I’m feeling great by 9am.

I’m loving an hour of meditation practice as I gear up for another 10-day stint at the nearby Vipassana meditation center.

I’m loving moving my body in any way I feel like. One of my favorite things about my 300hr ytt in India was the morning fascial flows. It’s a great way to turn around my morning grump.

I’m loving the morning sun on the porch and that it’s warm enough to be out here without blankets but still cool enough to enjoy.

As a summer-born baby I’m just ready for all things summer. I love the anticipation of paddle boarding in the lake and sweaty hikes that end with me lying in an ice cold stream.

Are you feeling this summer love kind of energy? Give me a 🙌 in the comments if you’re feeling this vibe.

What if you learned you already have the answers you’re looking for inside yourself?

In my chat with Jessica Luke that’s the truth she kept bringing me back to.

She runs 1440 Health Collective in Bethesda, MD, where she established The Well Grounded Soul and has spent decades helping people stop outsourcing their knowing.

I’ll be honest. I’m a person who still goes in search for answers outside of myself and feels let down when I don’t get them.

Jessica holds the space for you to meet your inner wise self and the healing comes from within.

We’re happy to be in Bethesda this weekend for the Bethesda Fine Arts Show. We’ll be able to check in with Jessica in person, where we first met her just a year ago.

Be sure to check out episode 39 of The Art of Centering wherever you listen to podcasts or comment EP39 and I’ll message you the link.

One of my favorite parts of doing art shows is sharing the concept of Centering Pendants in person, then watching someone’s face when they pick one up and feel it for themselves.

The pendants are concave, with an opening in the middle. When you reach for the necklace, your fingers slide naturally to the center and meet, forming jñāna mudra. A small, tactile moment of pause built into something you already wear every day.

I can talk about it all day, but the real moment is when someone holds one and goes, “oooh”.

That’s what you can hear in this video. 🤍

Follow along for more from behind the booth.

This is all it takes to bring you back to center.
