Jellyfish! (Meduse!) The latest addition to my underwater mural in the new jewelry-making classroom.

Fascinating creatures to look at but some are painful, like these that got me during our last snorkeling trip. They’re all part of the experience of something beautiful yet dangerous. Much like jewelry making can be if you aren’t careful when playing with fire and other machinery.

The reef - the first corner of the big mural is done for now. A coral reef featuring a sea turtle, sea urchins, and a couple of starfish along with sea fans and coral. I still want to go back and add tropical fish later when I work on some others later on in the underwater mural which is on the opposite wall to the mermaids I revealed last week.

The color of the water is matched to a hue from the snorkeling trips during our Florida Keys honeymoon last year. Featured animals of this mural come from local Mediterranean waters or that of Florida in addition to typical sea life images I have found from the internet as references.

The remainder of this mural will finish a little slower now as I’m about to return to teaching in the classroom at the university next week and I have a jewelry challenge project I want to finish by the end of the month.
