It’s hard to believe it’s already been about a month since the land art residency. I so wanted to post each day, but there was zero internet or cellular service along the river and with limited time at the camp where we had wifi I was usually charging my phone with all the other artists on various power strips located in the social area for eating and the evening entertainment.
We had 4 days together. The second and third day was a bit rough for me with little sleep and then an upset stomach where I stayed near camp most of the third day while I slowly worked in solitude in the riverbank below our camp area rather than at the installation site with the others. I managed to get it all together by the end and was happy to complete my installation as a big thunderstorm rolled in and we hurried back to camp. As a result I didn’t get so many good final images, but the experience was amazing. It was wonderful to disconnect from daily life and commune with other creatives even if I wasn’t feeling 100%.
I wrote a blogpost on my website once I returned discussing more about the meaning and describing the details of this work more in depth.
However, I haven’t been so good about promoting it at all simply because that post then turned into a website overhaul that still needs to be finished. Then work and house projects continued and well, now it’s a month later and I’ve just finished a new decorative project for the house. The distractions never stop. 😹
