RAILA ODINGA'S AU ELECTION LOSS: A TIGHT BATTLE BETWEEN CHRISTIAN AND MUSLIM MAJORITY NATIONS.
Masco finding after Research.
According to my findings as Masco on the AU election, where Raila Odinga was one of the candidates, the outcome is largely attributed to his loss. Africa consists of 54 recognized countries, though this number may vary slightly depending on whether Western Sahara (Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic) is included, as it is a disputed territory, bringing the total to 55. However, currently, there are 54 recognized African countries, and of these, 54 are members of the African Union (AU). Morocco is not a member of the AU due to its dispute over Western Sahara.
Out of these 54 countries, 25 are predominantly Christian, while 30 are Muslim-majority nations, with some countries having a mix of both religions. The Christian-majority countries include Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burundi, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, South Africa, South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The Muslim-majority countries include Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia, and Western Sahara. Additionally, Tanzania, Nigeria, Eritrea, and Ethiopia also have significant populations of both Christians and Muslims.
When Raila Odinga competed in the AU election, he was up against a majority of heads of state who were Muslim, with 29 Muslim-majority nations and only 25 Christian-majority countries. Many of the head of states who voted were Muslims, as shown by the list of countries where Muslim presidents are in power, such as Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, Mohamed al-Menfi of Libya, and others from Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and
