Just wing it. Google Maps doesn’t work. Forget about getting coffee in the morning. All these tips have elements of truth, and a lot wrong at the same time…

I still get messages asking if Haneul Park is the spot for pink muhly this year ⤵️

It’s not, and hasn’t been for at least a couple of years now. Pink muhly grass in Korea was classified invasive, so Seoul pulled it from public parks.

A lot of the “top pink muhly spots in Seoul” content still floating around hasn’t been updated properly. Make sure to verify and don’t plan a trip around a pink field that isn’t there anymore.

Here’s where pink muhly is actually blooming near Seoul this autumn: Yangju Nari Park, Goseokjeong Flower Garden and Pocheon Herb Island.

Most people hear “Chuseok” and immediately start panicking about their trip to Korea ⤵️

It’s one of Korea’s biggest holidays, where half the country is on the road returning to their hometowns for family gatherings, ancestral rites, and traditional feasts.

The date changes by the Lunar Calendar, and this year it falls on Sept 24-26, with Chuseok day on Friday, Sept 25.

Here’s the truth: Seoul during Chuseok is one of my favourite times to be in the city - quiet, unhurried, and beautiful in a way you rarely see.
