It is with profound disappointment and a sense of injustice that we address the recent suspension of our Facebook group. This group was a vibrant community, a dedicated space for horology enthusiasts to connect, share their passion, and celebrate the art of watchmaking.
Our mission was clear: to foster a genuine appreciation for authentic timepieces and to stand firmly against the proliferation of counterfeit and replica watches. We believed in educating our members, promoting ethical practices within the horological world, and protecting the interests of both collectors and creators.
For years, we have diligently worked to:
Educate: We provided resources and information to help our members distinguish between genuine articles and fakes, empowering them to make informed decisions.
Advocate: We vocally opposed the sale and promotion of counterfeit items, which not only deceive consumers but also undermine the integrity of the industry and the hard work of legitimate manufacturers.
Connect: We built a community where enthusiasts could share their knowledge, experiences, and love for horology in a safe and respectful environment.
Support: We supported genuine watchmakers and businesses.
It is a bitter irony that our group, which stood so strongly against counterfeits, has been suspended under the very accusation of violating intellectual property rights. This demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding, or perhaps a deliberate disregard, of our true purpose.
We have made numerous appeals to Facebook, providing clear evidence of our group's activities and our unwavering stance against counterfeits. We have patiently explained how our community actively worked to uphold the values of the horological world.
Despite our efforts, Facebook has remained unresponsive and unwilling to reconsider their decision. Their continued inaction and seeming ignorance in the face of clear evidence is both frustrating and disheartening. It reveals a flawed system where those fighting for authenticity can be unjustly silenced.
This suspension is not just an attack on our group; it's an attack on the principles of authenticity and integrity within the horological community. We remain committed to these principles, and we will continue to explore all avenues to rectify this unjust situation.
