Controversial opinion: if you really like it, just buy it. 🖤

Not every watch needs to be a perfect specimen. Especially vintage. Especially Rolex.

The archives barely exist. Parts got swapped between houses for decades. What’s original and what isn’t is a conversation even experts can’t always finish.

So buy with your eyes open. Learn what you can. Ask the right people.

But if it makes you happy every time you look at it that’s not nothing.

That’s actually the whole point.

If it’s fake, then what’s real already. 🤷

Vintage watches don’t come with guarantees. Parts get swapped. Dials get replaced. Cases get refinished. And half the time even the brands themselves have no record of it.

You take it to a service centre ten years later. They tell you something’s not original. What do you do with that?

You already loved it.
You already wore it.
That part was real.

Here’s something nobody talks about. Even the big houses swapped parts back then. JLC. Cartier. Rolex. No archives. No records. Just watches that lived long lives and picked up pieces along the way.

That’s vintage.
That’s the reality.

So if you find one you love and it feels right on the wrist that might be enough. 🤍
