🏭 A little peek inside our leather storeroom!
We mainly work with genuine cowhide and lambskin for our bags. 👜 Fun fact: these hides are generally by-products of the food industry, meaning they come from animals raised for meat rather than being the primary reason the animals are raised.
✨ Because genuine leather comes from real animal skin, natural marks, wrinkles, scars and irregular edges are completely normal! These characteristics are part of what makes every hide unique.
✨ Leather hides aren't naturally perfect rectangles.
✨ Bigger bags can also mean more leather wastage, as we need to cut around imperfections to get the right panels.
There's a lot more to making a leather bag than meets the eye! 👀
