Today's Transference of Wisdom (4)

"JACK OF ALL TRADES, MASTER OF NONE"

The above term is used derogatorily to describe a multi-skilled person with average efficiency. Its origin dates back to when Jack was used as a generic name for any general representative of the common people. Its usage is evident in the 14th Century, an example found in John Gower's Middle English Poem CONFESSIO AMANTIS (1390).

My Take on The Subject Matter:

Over time, so many people both old and young have come to terms with the ideology enshrined in the phrase without taking into cognizance the underlining limitations. This writeup differs with the above phrase on the premises listed below:

A. Being multi-talented, multi-skilled, multi-tasking etc does not in any way reduce your efficiency with adequate time management.

B. "Jack" used as a generic name for Common People implies that there were those who weren't "Common People." Great men/women that affect and impact lives in every small measure are not regarded as Common People. Striving to impact your generation is a characteristics of Uncommon Individuals.

C. The 14th Century and 21st Century are totally different in almost every area of human existence. With the advent and improvements in Technology, one can simultaneously engage in several activities right from the comfort of his/her home. Get the proper and adequate information in whatever you choose to engage in.

D. A derogatory statement about your ability tends to belittle your ability and capacity. It's actually improper to give in to negative vibes aimed at degrading your abilities.

What is the Scripture saying?

Psalms 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are Children of the Most High. It is also mentioned in John 10:34

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

You are empowered physically, mentally, spiritually etc to attain greatness in all you desire with hardwork, dedication and commitment. A strong will-power backed by deep thoughts, action plan and implementation is all that is required.
Think Greatness and be Great, for as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
Choose to be "JACK OF ALL TRADES, MASTER OF ALL"

TODAY'S TRANSFERENCE OF WISDOM
For starters, if you do not like me as a result of my stand on tithing, there's nothing I can do to remedy your situation other than to keep bringing up biblical verses for you to study.
The two books of the bible by a MAJOR prophet that talked expressly about tithing are:
1) Numbers 18:21-32
2) Deuteronomy 14:22-29 and 26:12
Why then do our "Spiritual Leaders" dwell so much on the book of the bible by a MINOR prophet which is the book of Malachi 3:10?
Now, let me do justice to these concept of Malachi 3:10 thus;
In the book of Nehemiah 10:38 "And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levite when the Levite take tithes: and the Levite shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house"
In same manner, the book of Numbers 18:26 "Thus speak unto the Levite's, and say unto them, when ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the Lord, even a tenth part of the tithe"
From the two quoted scriptures, it shows clearly that only 10% of your tithe is supposed to be kept in d store house of God by the Levite; example If you come with 10,000naira as your tithe, the Levite will take only 1,000naira and keep in the store house. The remaining 90% which is 9,000naira is what you, the Levite(because they have no inheritance in Israel) and the less privileged around you will use to merry, eat and rejoice in the presence of God (study scriptures (1) and (2) for guidance).
The children of Israel and the Priests alike at the time of Malachi deviated from the way of God which Malachi was addressing right from the very first verse of his book Malachi 1:1.
In the book of Malachi 2:1 "And now, O ye priests these commandment is for you" he (Malachi) started warning or commanding the priests for the wrong things they were doing which were contrary to the Covenant God had with LEVI their forefather. In fact Malachi 2: 4 - 7 (study from your bible) clearly introduced LEVI, his personality and the Covenant the Lord of Host had with him (note, the Levites are the descendants of LEVI).
In the book of Malachi 3:3 "And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them as gold and silver that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness" he clearly defines the thought and mind of God as revealed unto him.
In Malachi 3:10, I do not need to quote the verse because it is like the most popular verse of scripture in recent times; paraphrased "Bring yea all the tithes into the store house" was in line with the process of tithing given to the Levites as earlier mentioned in Nehemiah 10:38 and Numbers 18:26.
Conclusively, those to benefit from your tithes according to biblical standard are;
1) YOU
2) The Levites (because they have no inheritance in Israel)
3) The less privileged among you
4) The store house (10% of your tithe which is supposed to be kept by the Levite)
Outside these biblical process of tithing, any other thing you are doing is purely enriching a Pastor, Prophet or Reverend because no pastor in Nigeria doesn't have an inheritance and none of them is a descendant of LEVI.
I REST MY CASE.

MY INDEPENDENCE DAY SPEECH....
Some are calling for referendum, some are calling for separation and others are clamoring for self determination. The Igbo, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Ijaw, Anang, Ibibio, Nupe, Ebira, Idoma etc next door is really not the problem of our once great Nation.
The greatest problem of this country resulted largely from "putting square pegs in round holes" and giving assignments to people unfit and unqualified both in character disposition and learning/skills.
If you feel the Hausa man is your problem, travel round the north and see if his fellow tribesmen are living in luxury.
If you feel the Igbo man is your problem, travel through the east and find out how comfortable they live there.
If you yet feel the Yoruba man is your problem, go to the west and enjoy all the goodies you think they possess.
Whether in the East, West, North or South, CORRUPTION, GREED and MATERIALISM has eaten so deep into the core of our dear Country to the point that even our values as a people needs reorientation.
Fellow Nigerians, the politicians are not our problems, the agitators are also not our problems,
We ARE OUR OWN PROBLEMS.
Until we decide to down play insensitivity, gullibility and start doing things right as citizens, the Nation will only continue to Age without actual Achievements.
Let positivity prevail....
God Bless My Fatherland

A BEAUTIFUL STORY

It was their anniversary, and Funke was waiting for her husband Kunle to show up.

Things had changed since their marriage, the once couldn't-live-without-each-other cute couple had turned bitter fighting over every little thing. Both didn't like the way things had changed.

Funke was waiting to see if Kunle remembered it was their anniversary!

Just as the door bell rang, she ran to find her husband wet and smiling with a bunch of flowers in his hand.

The two started re-living the old days. Making up for fights, then was the plan for champagne, light music, - and it was raining! It was perfect timing.

But the romantic moment was paused when the phone in the bedroom rang.

Funke went to pick the phone up and it was a man who spoke. "Hello ma'am I'm calling from the police station. Is this Mr. Kunle Adeoye's number?"

"Yes it is!"

"I'm sorry ma'am; but there was an accident and a man died. We got this number from his wallet, and we need you to come and identify his body."

Funke's heart sank.!!! She was shocked!

"But my husband is here with me" Funke said.

"Sorry ma'am, but the incident took place at 2 pm, when he was boarding the train."

Funke was about to lose her mind.

How could this happen?!

She had heard about the soul of the person coming to meet a loved one before it finally leaves for eternity!

She ran into the other room.

He was not there. It was true! Kunle had left her for good!!

Oh God! She would have died for another chance to mend every little fight! She rolled on the floor in pain. She had lost her chance! Forever!

Suddenly, there was a noise from the bathroom. The door opened and Kunle came out and said to Funke, "Darling, I forgot to tell you my wallet got stolen today".

LIFE MIGHT NOT GIVE YOU A SECOND CHANCE. SO NEVER WASTE A MOMENT WHEN YOU CAN STILL MAKE UP FOR YOUR WRONGS!!!

Let's start making amends with parents, siblings, friends, and many others whom we have offended, or who may have offended us or d one dat put tears in ur eye..

No one has a promised tomorrow. So, have a wonderful life with no regrets!

Dating a graduate doesn't always mean they are industrious.
Dating a church girl/boy doesn't always mean s/he's holy and morally decent.
Dating a pretty girl doesn't always mean she's beautiful in character. Dating a corporate guy doesn't always mean he's organised.
Dating a s*xy lady doesn't always mean she is a s*x freak.
Dating a wealthy man doesn't always mean he will give you all you ask for always. What is my point here? If you don't date for the right reasons, you may actually end up getting married for the wrong reasons to the wrong person with the wrong life. Be careful.......

You are a MAN but what do u understand as d meaning of MAN? The word MAN means M=Morning A=Afternoon N=Night. The Morning is when you re being trained, groomed n nurtured, the Afternoon is when you start working for yourself n making money and other source of good living while the Night is when you re comfortable n start taking care of other younger ones by way of training your children and other charities. Its not tied to how old or young you are but your level of responsibility.
There's nothing as a Good Man or a Bad Man, the difference is in what ur personal/society attribute as being good or being bad but A Man is a Man no matter what. So ladies, be sure to thoroughly access whoever is around you as a partner, husband or whatever b4 tagging such one as "Good Man" or "Bad Man"

In 1923, nine of the wealthiest people in the world met at Chicago's Edge Water Beach Hotel.
Their combined wealth, it is estimated, exceeded the wealth of the Government of the United States at that time. These men certainly knew how to make a living and accumulate wealth.
Attending the meeting were the following men:
1. The president of the largest steel company;
2. The president of the largest utility company;
3. The president of the largest gas company;
4. The president of the New York Stock Exchange;
5. The president of the Bank of International Settlements;
6. The greatest Wheat Speculator;
7. The greatest "bear" on Wall Street;
8. The head of the World's greatest monopoly, and
9. A member of President Harding's cabinet.
That's a pretty impressive line-up of people by anyone's yardstick. Yet, 25 years later, where were those nine industrial giants?
Let’s examine what happened to them 25 years later:
1. The president of the then largest steel company (Bethlehem Steel Corp), Charles M Schwab, lived on borrowed capital for five years before he died bankrupt;
2. The president of the then largest gas company, Howard Hubson, went insane;
3. One of the greatest commodity traders (Wheat Speculator), Arthur Cutten, died insolvent;
4. Then president of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail;
5. The member of US President Harding's cabinet, Albert Fall, was pardoned from jail just to be able to go home and die in peace;
6. The greatest “bear” on Wall Street, Jesse Livermore committed su***de;
7. The president of the then world’s greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, also killed himself;
8. The president of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, equally took his own life;
9. The president of the largest utility company, Samuel Insull, died penniless.
What those people forgot was how to "make life” while they got busy making money! Money in itself is not evil its just a means of exchange. Learn to "make a living" and "how to live"

“At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.”
