✨💚 THAT'S A WRAP! FANTASY FEST RIJSWIJK 2026! 💚✨

What an absolutely fantastic weekend! 🧚‍♀️⚔️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by the SpoonCraft by Mel stand this weekend!

To our returning customers — it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces again! Knowing that you love your jewellery enough to come back for more genuinely means the world to me. ❤️

And to all our new customers and followers — welcome to the slightly mad world of SpoonCraft! 🥄✨ I hope you love your new treasures as much as I loved creating them.

We even took part in the Fantasy Fest fashion show this year! A first for SpoonCraft, and what a brilliant success it was! A little nerve-racking, a lot of fun, and definitely an experience to remember! 👗✨

Of course, none of this would have been possible without my wonderful family, who were thoroughly roped into helping. Apparently, when I say "all hands on deck", I really do mean ALL hands! 😂❤️

Speaking of hands... mine are now officially protesting after all that ring bending! 🤣

So, after weeks of polishing, creating, packing and preparing, it's finally time for a well-earned break.

The ring-bending tools are being swapped for a good book, sun cream and a sun lounger somewhere considerably warmer! ☀️📖🍹

SpoonCraft will be taking a little holiday, but don't worry — the spoons will be waiting when I get back. Although I suspect my hands might file a formal complaint if I pick up another ring bender too soon! 😂

Thank you all for supporting my little business and helping give forgotten treasures a beautiful new life.

⚔️🧚‍♀️ FANTASY FEST — DAY ONE COMPLETE! 🧚‍♀️⚔️

Well, we've survived our first day! 😂

The family has been put to work, the costumes have had their outing, and the SpoonCraft treasures have been on display for all sorts of wonderful fantasy folk.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, admired the jewellery or took a little piece of SpoonCraft magic home. ❤️

Now it's time to put our feet up, recharge and get ready to do it all again tomorrow!

⚔️🧚‍♀️ ALL HANDS ON DECK AT SPOONCRAFT HQ! 🧚‍♀️⚔️

As of 5pm today, the day job is officially ON PAUSE and the SpoonCraft madness takes over! 😂

The jewellery is polished, the rings are ready, the boxes are (mostly) packed and tomorrow we're off to set up for Fantasy Fest Rijswijk! ✨

This year it's a proper family affair! The whole gang is being drafted in, costumes are being prepared and everyone has a job. Whether they like it or not! 🤣

We've got handmade treasures, a little fantasy magic and probably a few last-minute panics to come!

This little mountain is heading to Fantasy Fest Rijswijk next weekend — vintage cutlery, rescued, bent, battered, polished and turned into something completely different.

Something rather special is coming with me to Fantasy Fest Rijswijk… 👀

This beautiful old ormolu jewellery casket has found a new purpose — guarding a little collection of SpoonCraft treasures. 🗝️

🌙✨ Would you ever guess this started life as vintage cutlery?

Meet Moonlit Lake — one of my newest one-of-a-kind SpoonCraft creations.

An ornate vintage handle, reimagined with a delicate dragonfly and freshwater pearl to create something completely new. 💙

I love the idea that something made decades ago, and no longer used for its original purpose, can become beautiful all over again.

🖤 FROM FISH KNIFE TO STATEMENT CUFF 🖤

Yep… this really did start life as a vintage fish knife. 😍

I loved the broad shape of the handle and knew there was a chunky cuff hiding in there somewhere — it just needed a little persuasion. 🔨

I’ve kept part of the silver beautifully smooth and added a hand-hammered section for contrast, then shaped the whole piece into a bold open cuff bracelet.

And this is exactly why I love working with old cutlery. Something that might otherwise sit forgotten in a drawer gets to become something completely different — with all of its history still tucked away inside it. ❤️

One fish knife. One statement cuff. No two will ever be quite the same.

🏔️🤍 Edelweiss — a little piece of the mountains.🤍🏔️

There are some patterns hidden in vintage cutlery that are simply too beautiful to disappear.

This edelweiss pendant has been handcrafted from a vintage piece of silver-plated cutlery, carefully cut and reshaped while preserving those gorgeous original flowers.

Edelweiss grows high in the mountains and has long been associated with courage, devotion and enduring love — which somehow makes it even more lovely to give this old piece a second life. 🤍

I especially love that you can still see the history in it. It isn't supposed to look factory-perfect and brand new. The little marks and details are part of what it once was — and now it gets to become something completely different.

From the table to the mountains.

This one will also be joining me at Fantasy Festival Rijswijk. 🌿

As always, I've used a little AI magic to create the Alpine setting for my handmade piece. The pendant itself is real, and I'll put my original photographs in the comments so you can see exactly what you'll be getting.
