📜 Origins
• 1902 — Created in Amsterdam by Joseph Asscher, co-founder of the Asscher Diamond Company (today: Royal Asscher).
• It was the first patented diamond cut in history.
• Inspired by the emerald cut, but with deeper step facets and a higher crown, designed to maximize brilliance while keeping a very symmetrical, geometric look.

🕵️‍♀️ Rarity: Yellow fluorescence is rarer than the more common blue fluorescence.
🩵 Visible under UV light: The effect of fluorescence is only visible when the diamond is exposed to ultraviolet light.

💛 Yellow fluorescence in a diamond is a glowing effect visible under ultraviolet (UV) light. While the presence of nitrogen usually causes blue fluorescence, yellow fluorescence is most often caused by the presence of boron. This rarer type of fluorescence can enhance the beauty of fancy yellow diamonds but may cause colorless diamonds to appear 🔬 milky 🤍 or duller 🧟, making it a less desirable trait for those stones.
What causes yellow fluorescence?
Boron:
The primary element responsible for yellow or green fluorescence is boron, which is only present in about 2% of all diamonds
