Vi lever i en urban oase, omgitt av spektakulær natur rik på asymmetriske former, hver med sin egen unike skjønnhet. Samtidig lever vi i et livlig og lekent miljø. En liten metropol med et urbant liv helt unikt for en by på vår størrelse. Det er i dette samspillet - mellom utemmet og urbant, rått og raffinert, at vi finner noe dyrebart. Noe vi setter pris på og som vi bringer til liv gjennom håndlagde smykker. Vi kaller det skjønnheten i det uperfekte.

The Tåpp Necklace in gold is created by placing a handpicked piece of eclogite from Tromsø into a sand cast mould. Gold heated to around 1000 degrees Celsius is then poured into the mould, encapsulating the stone.

The finished piece of jewellery will never look quite the same as another. The individual shape of the stone, together with the liquid gold, determines how the final piece takes shape

Our designers hike up the mountains themselves to collect the eclogite, which is the stone at the centre of the jewellery. The stones are then encapsulated in gold or silver, which takes shape around the stones.

Surrounding Tromsø are steep mountains reaching from the ocean to the clouds. These incredible structures of nature are the inspiration for the collection.

Our designers hike up the mountains themselves to collect the eclogite, which is the stone at the centre of the jewellery. The stones are then encapsulated in gold or silver, which takes shape around the stones.

This method means that every Tåpp ring and necklace is truly one of a kind.

As a jewellery designer, we take inspiration from our Arctic environment. Surrounding Tromsø are steep mountains reaching from the ocean to the clouds.

Our Tåpp collection is inspired by this dramatic scenery, where local eclogite is encapsulated in fine materials such as gold and silver.

This creates a natural and almost wild expression in the jewellery.

The Fråst armring in gold is a piece many of our returning clients dream of owning.   Before the summer, one of them came to us with gold jewellery she no longer wore. Much of it had been passed down from her grandmother and had spent years tucked away in a jewellery box.   She wanted to give the gold a new purpose and came to our gallery with one piece in mind: the Fråst armring.   Using your own gold to create something new is one way to carry a family’s story forward.   The material remains the same, while the jewellery becomes part of a new chapter.

Congratulations, Ursula and Pål. Thank you for letting us be part of such a meaningful day.

Earlier this summer, Ursula and Pål exchanged their wedding rings in Tromsø Cathedral.

“We purposely chose Wabi Sabi to hand craft our wedding bands because we believe in their ethos. They have made restorations to our family collection, some pieces nearly 200 years old. Now they have crafted our wedding bands for a love that will remain eternal.”

Their wedding day held one more special moment. On the morning of the ceremony, Pål found out they were expecting their second child. Ursula had discovered the news the day before and surprised him with a card waiting on the table.
