Last year I went to a glass casting course run by Lou Mathieson https://www.facebook.com/castglassartist/ . I wanted to learn how to cast glass as removing all our windows and have lots of sheet glass, was thinking of sprinkling on enamel powder and making into tiles.
The course was spectacular and I made a bowl for my eldest daughter. I have finally got my ducks in a row and spent today creating the blanks to plaster cast then hopefully make the tiles in a couple of weeks. Ill use broken wine bottles cause I like the green colour and its cheap.... Still playing but hoping the clay blanks hold together for casting the plaster in prep for the glass. I believe there will be many fails but what is life without experimentation Continuing to making glass beads for CCF and received a wonderful bunch of beads from Emily Lake (I'll post a photo in a couple of weeks of her beautiful beads). Photos are of 1. wax mould of my bowel, 2. finished bowel and 3. clay tile blanks I created today, just need to let them dry before setting into the plaster cast as the mould for the glass in the kiln.
