Are you interested in finding collective solutions to climate change?

This Friday, we’re hosting the Climate Youth Conference in partnership with the Klimatorium in Denmark 🌏

Designed by rangatahi for rangatahi, the conference is a hybrid event that will be delivered both in-person and online. You’ll hear from keynote speakers, get the chance to meet youth from other countries and learn more about how we can strengthen collaboration and find solutions that can bring our planet back into balance.

📣 Opportunity for rangatahi to become MFAT interns 📣

Applications are now open for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade's (MFAT) Aorere and Vaka Policy Internships.

The Aorere and Vaka internships are part of MFAT’s efforts to attract more Māori and Pasifika staff to help ensure that its foreign ministry and advice reflects the full diversity of Aotearoa.

Internships include:
- 💵 A paid internship over summer (Nov – Feb) within one of the Foreign Policy teams
- 👩🏽‍💼 A research project and opportunity to present your findings
- 👨🏾‍🎓 A workshop series designed to prepare you for a graduate role
- 💭 Opportunities to use, share and further develop your mātauranga Māori skills
- 🤝🏽 Networking opportunities
- 🧑🏽‍💻Support and guidance from a mentor
- ✈️ Travel assistance will be provided for interns outside of the Wellington region.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June for our Karioi Matariki wānanga, the first Karioi wānanga in a new series taking place from June 2022 through to May 2023.

This wānanga will be held across Te Āwhina Marae, Te Māra o Puanga Kairau and Te Puna o Riuwaka (with a noho at Te Āwhina on Monday night).

Tēnā koutou e te whānau o Wakatū,

We have received a very positive response to our request that people RSVP for our special general meeting, which is to be held at 9:00am next Saturday, 18 June at Te Papa Tongarewa in Te Whanganui a tara (Wellington).

We have now reached our capacity for the hui, at 450 attendees and due to venue restrictions – we are unable to extend past this number.
