We've been prospecting (casually looking, really) for jade, or as the locals call it "green stone" on the Wild West coast of New Zealand this week. It can be found on several beaches and in stream beds. The recent earth quakes seem to have brought some to the surface. Also picking up some white quartz and other stones. We also found the remains of numerous jelly fish on the shore. Not sure why... When we get back to our workshop we will make some new jade jewelry!

Australian Boulder Opals!

I found these stones at the Tucson gem show last January. They caught my eye because of the deep blue veins.

Luminescent, Sky blue and cloud white, crystalline, Australian Boulder Opal stones, with boulder inclusions, transparent from front to back and side to side. Set in Silver to create a Necklace of striking color.
