They were worn out. But they weren’t ready to be let go.

Several much-loved rings, each carrying their own sentimental attachment, came to us because they had reached the point where they were simply no longer practical to wear.

Rather than leaving those memories sitting in a jewellery box, we brought them together into something new.

The result is this beautiful curved eternity-style ring, combining warm citrines and diamonds in a design made to be worn and enjoyed all over again.

This is what we love about remodelling.

Italy has always been part of the story.

Earlier this year Patricia and I returned to Italy for a very special reason — the wedding of our nephew, bringing together family from New Zealand, England and Italy.

For Patricia, the connection is deeply personal. Her father, Silvano Mantovani, came from Laterina in Tuscany, and her Italian heritage has always been an important part of our family. My sister also married into an Italian family, giving us another wonderful connection through the Ascolani family and our nephew and neices.

For me, the fascination with Italy goes back even further. In seventh form at Rangitoto College, I studied Italian Renaissance art — never imagining that decades later Italy would become such an important influence on the jewellery we design at Fishers.

During our time in Tuscany we returned to Patricia’s family roots, spent time in Laterina and Arezzo, and absorbed something Italy does extraordinarily well: the combination of art, craftsmanship, proportion and beauty with generations of tradition.

That influence is increasingly finding its way into our own work.

Not by copying Italian jewellery, but through the way we think about design — elegant proportions, beautiful detail, craftsmanship, and pieces intended to be treasured for generations.

Some of our newest Fishers collections even carry the names and stories of our Italian families.

For us, Italy isn't simply inspiration.

It's family. It's heritage. And increasingly, it's part of the Fishers design story. 🇮🇹💎
