TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION
"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
(Luke 6:27-28, NASB)
REFLECTION:
What does it mean to LOVE others? Does it only involve loving those who are easy to love?
What about those who may be difficult to get along with? Are there people close to me whom I find hard to love?
What can help motivate me to keep loving people no matter what?
ACTION POINT:
Love, in its truest essence, begins with an encounter with God, because God is Love and it is Him who teaches us how to truly love. I love because He first loved me, unconditionally.
Though I may be a sinner, full of flaws and imperfections, He still loves me and refuses to give up on me, for His desire is that I may be transformed into the kind of person He wants me to be.
TRUE LOVE then is from God and it is the unconditional commitment to accept imperfect people and seek their highest good, even if it may sometimes require sacrifice.
Like God, I too will love -- truly LOVE and not just tolerate -- those people who may be hard to love. I will love them just as they are, but desire and pray for their Godly transformation.
The most powerful way to witness for Christ is through Love. Like JESUS, I will commit to LOVE DIFFICULT PEOPLE!
