Parallel lines = same gradient. Every time! 📉

Edexcel GCSE mock prep:
Find the equation of the line through C(0,3) parallel to AB.

➡️ A(0,−2), B(−4, 2)
➡️ Gradient m = (2−(−2)) ÷ (−4−0) = 4÷−4 = −1
➡️ y-intercept = 3
➡️ Equation: y = −x + 3 ✅

Gradient + y-intercept. That’s all you need! 💡

Split it. Calculate it. Add it. 📰

Cambridge Year 7 session today: Volume of compound 3D shapes!

The method that works every time:
➡️ Split the shape into simple cuboids
➡️ V = l × w × h for each part
➡️ Add the volumes together ✅

Shape a: 336 + 450 = 786 m³
Shape b: 420 + 162 = 582 mm³

Once students see the strategy — compound shapes become easy marks! 💡

Inside the circle = 2 intersections. Always! 🔵

Edexcel GCSE mock prep:
Show any line through (1,2) cuts x² + y² = 16 at two points.

➡️ r = 4
➡️ 1² + 2² = 5 → √5 < 4
➡️ (1,2) is INSIDE → any line must cross twice ✅

No guessing. Pure logic. Full marks! 💡

Inside or outside the circle? 🔵 That's the question!

Today's Edexcel GCSE session: Show any straight line through (1,2) intersects x² + y² = 16 at two points.

➡️ Circle has centre (0,0), radius = 4
➡️ Check (1,2): 1² + 2² = 5
➡️ √5 < 4 → point lies INSIDE the circle ✅

If a point is inside a circle — any line through it MUST cross the circle twice. Elegant logic! 💡

Ratio in real life — cupcakes edition! 🧁

Today’s Cambridge Grade 7 session:
A bakery sells 300 cupcakes. Chocolate : Vanilla = 2:3. How many vanilla?

➡️ Total parts = 5
➡️ 1 part = 300 ÷ 5 = 60
➡️ Vanilla = 60 × 3 = 180 ✅

Real-life contexts make Maths click for students every time! 💡

Two skills. One question. Maximum marks! ✏️

Edexcel GCSE mock prep — Graphs of Linear Equations:
6y + 5x = 15 → make y the subject, then find k when x = −21

➡️ Rearrange → y = −5x/6 + 2.5
➡️ Substitute x = −21 → k = 17.5 + 2.5 = 20 ✅

Rearranging + substitution in one question — this is exactly what the examiner wants to see! 💡

Graphs of Linear Equations — exam season is HERE! 📈

Edexcel GCSE mock prep this week:
ABCD is a rectangle. Line AB: y = 2x + 1
Find the equation of line DC through C(0,6).

➡️ Same gradient (parallel lines) → m = 2
➡️ y-intercept = 6
➡️ Equation: y = 2x + 6 ✅

Parallel lines = same gradient. Always! 💡

Ratio & Proportion — locking in the method! 🎯

Cambridge Grade 7 paper prep today:
A school in Doha has 420 students. Boys to girls = 3:4. How many girls?

➡️ Total parts = 3+4 = 7
➡️ 1 part = 420÷ 7 = 60
➡️ Girls = 60×4 = 240 ✅

Simple steps. Full marks. Every time! 💡

Inequalities + Number Line — 3 marks you don’t want to lose! 📊

Last session’s Edexcel GCSE mock prep:
Solve 4 − 3x ≤ 2x + 14 and show it on a number line.

➡️ Rearrange → x ≥ −2
➡️ Filled dot at −2 (includes −2)
➡️ Arrow pointing right ✅

The trick students always forget:
🔴 Filled dot = ≥ or ≤ (includes the value)
○ Open dot = > or < (excludes the value)

Get this right every time — it’s an easy 3 marks! 💡

Mocks are here. Let’s not leave marks on the table! 📚
