If you think youβve seen every shade of blue nature can createβ¦ think again. π
This is Cavansite β a rare mineral famous for these incredible electric-blue crystal rosettes that almost look too perfect to be real. First discovered in Oregon in 1967, mineralogists were immediately intrigued by its unusual chemistry containing calcium, vanadium, and silicon. That breathtaking neon-blue color comes entirely from vanadium trapped within the mineralβs delicate hydrous silicate structure.
Nature didnβt need paint, dye, or artificial color to make this. It created this.
π So, if you found a Cavansite cluster like this, would you keep it in your collection? Tell me in the comments!
