Iron hosen are simple to grasp, yet hard to master. They tell us more about us reenactors than one would assume: Many medieval knights would of course wear iron hosen as a piece of equipment for their mounted warfare. Their modern weekend warrior doubles on foot however, choose to not wear iron on their legs that often.

When it comes to lacing, it is time-consuming and requires an assistant. Reenactors more often choose fully enclosed versions without lacing. Apparently, squires and a moment of time for lacing are less abundant today. More so, we feel fulfilled that we could build these iron hosen with laces. :)
