A collet setting—often used in engagement and fine jewellery—is a ring of metal, or “collar,” that encircles and cradles the outer edge of a gemstone. Originating in the Georgian era, it acts as a secure, vintage-inspired alternative to traditional prongs.

Types of Collet Settings💎

* Closed-Back Collet:
The traditional Georgian style; metal completely encloses the bottom of the gem.

* Open-Gallery Collet:
A modern, architectural adaptation. The collar wraps the gem’s edge but leaves the bottom (the pavilion) open to maximise light.

✌️Collet vs. Bezel: While similar, full bezels enclose the stone in a continuous strip of metal, whereas collets often have a more sculptural, sometimes pronged, border.

Benefits of a Collet Setting🔆

* Ultimate Security: The metal collar protects the vulnerable girdle (outer edge) of the diamond from chips and snags.

* Low Profile: Excellent for an active lifestyle, as the gem sits close to the finger.

* Antique Aesthetics: Offers a highly sought-after vintage or architectural look.😉

It's not just a wax _it’s a piece of me! 💞

There’s something deeply personal about working with your hands.

In a world that moves fast and favours perfection, handcrafting slows me down… and brings me back to myself. Every carve, every mark in the wax carries a piece of me — my thoughts, my mood, my energy in that exact moment.

It’s not just a process, it’s a quiet conversation between me and the material.

Jewellery, for me, isn’t just something I create… It’s something I feel.
It feeds my soul while, at the same time, taking something from it — turning it into something you can hold, wear, and keep.

This is why I chose handcrafting. Always.💞

I’m not yet sure of the final name for the collection. Still, it revolves around the journey of healing and revival, and the union or integration of humanity with nature, as we are, in truth, an inseparable part of nature and the universe around us. Yet, we sometimes become preoccupied with the pursuit of the latent connection of our souls.

Working on my new collection 💥

It embodies our journey through the fractures and challenges we face, along with the revival of our spirits and mindset to heal and thrive to live anew.🌿💚🤍

This is how I make reticulation on wax 😉😍

A Reticulation technique is used to create organic,
wrinkled, or “molten-looking” surfaces on the wax.

It's usually known by using controlled heat to create organic, wrinkled, or ridge-like textures on metal surfaces, most commonly silver or gold alloys.

I deliberately left my fingerprint inside the ring as a signature of the maker.🫆💍

I originally designed this in silver and gold for a ring that I cut and soldered, but this time I’m trying it in wax to make a mould, which will allow me to produce many copies.
This makes it easier to create sets and different designs based on the main one.🪷💙

Working on this Ginkgo biloba leaf, carving every vein and curve inspired by nature itself. This piece can produce a full jewellery set — delicate earrings, a statement ring, and a timeless pendant.

I’m also exploring a stone-setting version… imagine this organic form holding touches of amber warmth and London blue topaz depth 🧡💙

Which version would you like to wear? Let me know in the comments😎
